Help with shaders, textures or maybe something else!

A while back I got "The Vamp" for the MFD. The problem is that I've never been able to get the same shiny pvc/latex sort of look, like in the promos. Recently I bought "Emotions for Teen Josie", but I have the same problem. In the promos some of the materials look like pvc or rubber, all I get is a dull grey! I'm sure I'm missing something about shaders, textures or uber-something-or-others, maybe surface or render settings - could anyone point me in the right direction, please?

    What sort of lighting do you have when you render? I have the Emotions product, I'll give it a whirl when I am back on my rendering PC.

    Are you sure you are using the DAZ Studio materials, assuming this is in DAZ Studio? If the materials are shiny with wide highlights, as latex may well be, and you are not using custom lights then the default headlight shining from the camera will produce highlights on the surfaces towards you, which may be what you are seeing.

    I don't have those so this is a stab in the dark.. But is it possible that the PVC uses raytraced reflections? If so you need enough in the scene to reflect properly.
