Genesis 2 - Facial Morphs

Hi all

I've used V4 on Poser for what feels like forever, but have finally decided to migrate into the wonderful world of Genesis 2. All my DSON etc is working fine, as is my DAZ Install Manager.

However, something (probably obvious when it's pointed out) I've been struggling with - where do I get basic morphs for facial expressions (e.g. look up, open smile and so on) for Genesis 2?

I can't see anything in the Pose Library. Is this something I need to buy an add-on pack for (like the old v4.2 Morphs++ pack), and if so, could you point me to the correct item?

Thanks - and sorry if the answer is obvious, I can't see it :)

I believe you have to buy the morph packages.

    Heya

Thanks - I saw http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-2-female-head-morphs, but those morphs seem to be "face sculpting" (eg Mouth Height), rather than expressions (e.g. Open Smile).

Has anyone seen a set that gives basic expressions?

    Thanks

    EDIT:
I just noriced that you are using DIM?
If you select Genesis 2 Female Starter Essnetials in DIM from the Installed tab, right click, and select Show Installed Files, you should see the morphs there, and where they have been installed to.

There are a load of morphs that come with G2F, here are some listed below:

    ata/DAZ 3D/Genesis 2/Female/Morphs/DAZ 3D/Base/alias_head_PHMAfraid.dsf
    /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 2/Female/Morphs/DAZ 3D/Base/alias_head_PHMAngry.dsf

    /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 2/Female/Morphs/DAZ 3D/Base/alias_head_PHMConcentrate.dsf
    /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 2/Female/Morphs/DAZ 3D/Base/alias_head_PHMConfused.dsf
    /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 2/Female/Morphs/DAZ 3D/Base/alias_head_PHMContempt.dsf
    /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 2/Female/Morphs/DAZ 3D/Base/alias_head_PHMDesire.dsf
    /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 2/Female/Morphs/DAZ 3D/Base/alias_head_PHMDisgust.dsf
    /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 2/Female/Morphs/DAZ 3D/Base/alias_head_PHMExcitement.dsf

You should have these installed already. The ones I have listed I would call expression morphs.

I don't know how you would find them in Poser though.

basic expressions should be in the head. select the head and you should find them either in parameters or in the posing pane

Yes, you're right, DIM shows they're there.

They don't seem to appear in my Poser library though - maybe some error in the way I set up DSON - I'll look into it.

    Many thanks for your help!

    Hi all

I've worked it out - my bad.

In case anyone else gets the same issue, I was looking in Genesis 2 Female->Head for the expression dials (- this is what I am used to from using V4), and couldn't see them.

    They're in Genesis 2 Female->Pose Controls->Head->Expressions

    Thanks all :)

Although the 'out of the box' expressions that come with Genesis (angry, happy, flirting etc) are so bad as to be virtually useless. You are far better off making little adjustments to all the individual face parameters like brows, lips etc. Never did understand why DAZ couldn't seem to take the trouble to make a decent attempt at expressions.
