Importing 2d photoshop images to DS

Is it possible to import a 2d image in some format that then can be used just like a regular object but of course fits physically only in the two planes?

You could create a plane primitive and apply an image to it in the Surfaces tab.
1. Create>New primitive
2. Select Plane Type, adjust size if desired. Click Accept
3. Adjust the position, rotation, and x and y scale using the Parameter tab's translation/rotation/scale controls
4. To apply a texture, with the plane selected, go to the Surfaces tab and add an image to the Diffuse channel.
Thank you! I do not know why I could not remember how to do that and you helped clear up a mystery in Photoshop where I created a 3d object out of the image but it did not associate the "texture" which I found as a result of your post.
