LuxRender Finished Imaged Save Path?
For purposes of clarity, I don't need the path where the executable is... Jaderail helped with that one.
The new problem is how do I save the render and where it is saved to.
With 3Delight Daz Studio has all this nicely taken care of with a GUI and wonderful functionality.
...but LuxRender?
I have perused the Export Image To menu and its all cryptic. I experimented with a few of the options but their descriptions do not indicate that the export is really the finished render.
So the question is
1) While lux is rendering where do you tell it to say, "Hey, I want the render in the present state to be the real render"
Save and Exit don't work, that just creates lxs and flm files.
2) How to do I tell LuxRender to use a specified path where I want the render to be just like Daz Studio's functionality?
...because there is no LuxRenderDS tab found under "Window" >> "Panes (Tabs)" where I can alter settings.
Appreciate your help and your time. Thanks

What are you using, Luxus or Reality?
You can go to the interface of Luxrender while it is running, select File > Export to Image > Tonemapped Low Dyanmic Range Image, and there are several options there that will save the current image as a PNG, JPEG, TIFF or BMP to wherever you want to save it to.
Thank you Jimmy. Very helpful. I know it seems like a basic question, but I was really wracking my brain scouring the Google and Lux forums to no avail.
To answer your question, its no reality, but Luxus or the fancy term "Luxus via LuxRender"
Thank you again very much
I really like the results with Luxus. It really blows 3Delight out of the water.
Ok, file location when using Luxus ...
You have two major options (this is best done with the advanced tab selected as some options are there) - you can let Daz Studio provide the location (in which case it will be save din the DS temporary folder) or you can specify a location. If I'm a bit vague that is because I do not have DS or Luxus available to me at the moment! You can also specify a file name or you can let DS supply one, in which case DS will come up with one of it's temporary filenames of the form d###.tif, where ### will be a number.
Apart from Jimmy's answer I wonder if you have already skimmed through the Rendering options?
Because there are a lot of options which you can tweak. For example the option that it should use the LuxRender console, or that it needs a different write image interval; this determines how often the LuxRender engine writes out your image. But you also have room to specify extra commandline options, and those can be very handy.
Apart from the LuxRender manual itself it can also be handy to open a commandline (dos prompt on windows) and check out the luxconsole program ("luxconsole --help"). That can also give you a good idea of some of the extra options which you can use (though the plugin covers a lot of the more useful options already).
But although I wholeheartedly agree that LuxRender is an awesome piece of work I also wouldn't cut 3Delight short, that engine also has a lot of potential in my opinion.
I agree. For example, I have noticed that I when use MUUSA Ethereal lights on a scene Luxus ignores the gel lights, unless I am doing something wrong to where Luxus can recognize. So 3Delight in that sense is a great options for lighting special effects.
However regular light scenes (and even with tweaked lights in Luxus) the output is just incredible.
I will try out the advanced tab and explore some of the options available to me.
I purchased this training video "Luxes Pro Training" from Bluebird 3D to get me started and I really like it.

For anyone who has no exposure to Luxus she give you a firm foundation from her own experience and knowledge to get you going. From there you can build on your experience and knowledge. She is really cool! Excellent video.
