The candle stand also isn't as visiable in the 4.11 render
There is a big difference in the Iray engine between 4.10 and 4.11. We were told that in 4.11, a lot more is accomplished in each iteration than in 4.10. I would be interested in a similar comparison, but with Quality set to Off, Max Time set to 0, (zero,) and Max Samples set to the same on both, say 1000 samples or so. I believe that would be a better comparison than convergence, as I suspect the algorithm to reach convergence may be quite different between the two.
It seems to be the way the lighting is handled. The glint on the candle holder and the reflection in her eyes are different between the two.
I usually buy Mousso, but Queenie I'd like to see how much blush she has for a "natural" base. The only toned down cheeks appear to have a lot more light on the character. Will anyone who buys her test out the "base" and see if her cheeks can have the non-blush look?

I've been learning how to use depth canvases to get the smoky room effect without an expensive volumetric prop/light. I'm really pleased with the end result! Would people be interested in a tutorial?

Just to be clear- old content is fine. And we often post duplicates of the same product. It's to show renders, not just to promote a product that's new or relatively new. So if there's something you want to give a special shoutout for, feel free. :)
I just love it when I get a banner for free DO's from a selection- and there's no link anywhere to the section. What am I supposed to do- guess?

I didn't have it the previous batch when the other pro bundle came out, they seem to be rewarding people in cycles. So of course, I did NOT buy the male Pro bundle that just came out. I get the discount when there's (sigh) another female.)
So that lowers your prices, as it works on new items too (like Pro Bundles.) DONT CHECK OUT THE PRO JUST JUMPED TO 77 DOLLARS!!! Anyway, mine was 37.00 plus change before the cart goofed up, and I tested the Victoria birthday code and yes it works on the Pro Bundle.

The 20% Victoria Birthday code only lasted for about two weeks (or less) for me, even though the original message (gone now) said it would last for longer. Someone in another thread suggested the code depends on you spending a certain amount each week, but my buying a $300 GC was not enough to qualify. I'm really getting sick of this store and all its glitches, which don't always get fixed by the techs or by sales (and yes, I've tried many times with various bug reports).

Okay, since this was mentioned in Commons (not a glitch apparently) Remember to use your Victoria Birthday code to buy a gift card BEFORE you buy the Pro bundle, etc.
What appears to have happened- remember me griping about not getting discounts a week or so ago when a lot of people did? I think they released another Victoria birthday banner to the next batch of us. I did NOT have it when the latest male pro bundle was released. I've had the current one about a week IIRC. It expires the 21st. The banner is gone but it should still be in your account in exclusive offers (and IS still working. I also got 20% off a gift card a few minutes ago. Not sure if there was a banner for that separately.)
To answer a question - the pro bundle is 37.03 for me with the birthday banner. 73% off.
I do wish marketing would just treat everyone the same, all the time. We've given feedback about this for YEARS and they don't listen. Have a rewards program like another site, and that would reward you when you spend- but everyone should get the same discounts otherwise IMO.
Look at the first thumbnail, second row for Eleyna The bottom eyelashes don't even come all the way over. I personally also don't like the trend of having the eyebrows coming farther over towards the middle of the face and starting down the slope of nose bridge. But then again, you know me and eyebrows. I have an instant like or dislike at the very first glance, which is just personal preference.

Okay, back online. I checked Exclusive Offers and yesterday only they extended the Victoria Birthday bonus (for us in the second group) to have gift cards one day only at 20% off.
Which brings me to mention- apparently you need to check your account and those exclusive offers, because banners are covering up banners. Someone mentioned that gift card 20% off over in the pro bundle thread otherwise I wouldn't have tried it. So to answer that question, it was one day only, on the 20th.
I will put a reference link on the first page of this thread, in the References :) It will be under Depth Canvas in tutorials. Appreciate all the work you put into it!
Be sure and check your messages, there's a one day Victoria banner. I almost closed it out, thinking it was the one that expired on the 21st. They are both purple. They REALLY need to change colors of popup banners so there's not two purple ones in a row.
BTW, will someone check Amatista and see if you are getting the red nose? All of it, not just the end. Would that be a translucency issue? I'm getting ready to post her for you. I know, hold your heart, I RENDERED.
Wanted to do this in a separate post- I did upgrade to the 4.11 Public, for those who are holding back due to slow loading/ rendering times, and crashes, in the beta. All I can say is WOW. It is SO speedy! No crashes. Keep in mind I still have my 4.10 too (don't ask me how I did that, I think one is on my hard drive and the other is on the external, I followed directions from somewhere a long time ago and set it up that way.
But I would recommend the 4.11 now (the real deal, not the beta.) The Amatista renders zipped along and done in TWO MINUTES. Yes, I have expanded time and samples, same settings as always and I double checked.

CON: I looked at the promos and Amatista has a red nose there as well. The texture color is definitely different than the rest of the face IMO.
PROS: Very easy expressions- nice and fluid. I used BJ Amira Smile at 50%.
Amaista has nice teeth too.
TIP: for this lip color, use the default, then in Surfaces use color 205/184/177. It's a light/medium gray mauve. When added to the base color, you get a very nice red color.
Best of all : The eyebrows are variegated. Meaning, the areas on the bottomside stroke upwards from different areas and don't look lawn-mowered into an even row starting point. (Variegated means different colors in streaks or clumps, OR marked by variety. It's going to be my new buzzword on this thread I think for eyebrows. I had to look up how to spell it though LOL)
Open both of these side by side (new windows will open for you) then click back and forth. Watch the nose. I "fixed" it with the same skin tone found on the rest of the face. You can see how different it is. Also note in the red nose one, the eye on our left is totally red in the lacrimal. I hand colored it darker. You'll also see some tiara changes as I had to go back and quickly cover over some hair pokethrough.
Next open these two and compare the costume jewelry leaves. It's a nice touch to change the tiara stone and neck leaves, armband leaves, to the same color. @vyktorhia did a nice job on those and I use them often.
The renders without the Swedish Castle trees are with the Pro-Studio HDR Lighting System number 16.
Summer Muse Outfit is "interesting." CON: The band under the breasts doesn't sit where it would support keeping the fabric in place, and unless the cups are absolutely made of concrete to keep them against the boobs, there's going to be a lot of "oops" when wearing this thing. You can see where the band goes on the side, it goes lower and does not support the breasts at all. (This outfit came in the Pro Bundle, I didn't buy it.) PROS: The back of the gown and the flow overall is quite nice though, and the materials are detailed. I changed the white to 160/160/160 in Surfaces to a medium gray, so the details wouldn't be wiped out with the sun in the Swedish Castle lighting.
The first ones don't have the arm bracelet, that got switched off somehow (my error when testing lights) I want to mention I changed the stones using Costume Jewelry, Rhinestone 16 which is a luscious dark brown and very elegant. I then changed the leaves in the armband and collarpiece.
CON: The waist band and collar are ONE ZONE. They should be separate! I wanted to do the waist with that same brown and couldn't (and obviously, with making the leaves brown in the neck, did NOT want the neckline to go brown.)
PRO: EmmaAndJordi rule supreme IMO for morphs for hair options. Anytime you buy one of their hair products, you know you can do everything under the sun with it. Just take a look at the product description for Kavindra Hair.

Interesting. You folks who got the V5 and M5 PRO BUNDLES from buying Cararra- check and see if you still have the V5 Pro Bundle listed in your Product Library? Both Pro Bundles were offered with Cararra, and now apparently the individual products are there, without mentioning the Pro Bundle.
Yeah, I got my V5 and M5 pro bundles with Cararra (the only reason I bought it) in January 2015. I don't see either of them in my product library, and if I go to the relevant product pages they don't show as purchased. I don't know if it was always like that. I got the full pro bundles when I bought it, including the Genesis gens.
I believe it always was that way.
It the same for me, no v5 or m5 pro bundles now, but I'm pretty sure at one time I had to have and saw with my own eyes the V5 & M5 Pro Bundles in my Product Library because buying Carrara Pro 8 added them to my Product Library & those products are still both listed as as being included with Cararra Pro 8. The individual products in the pro bundles are there in my product library still.
Maybe this means there will soon be a Carrara Pro 9 with Michael 8 Pro Bundle & Victoria 8 Pro Bundle?
