Victoria 4.2/ Poser 9 Patch SR3 and Content Update- problem

edited November 2013 in New Users

Hello. Poser user who has been using Victoria 4.2 and run across a problem; hoping I'm missing something boneheaded and obvious.

I recently gave in to Poser 9's nagging and sought out the most recent update patches for my version of Poser 9, Poser9-SR3.1_win and Poser9Pro2012-CU1_01win ("content update").

Since doing so, Victoria's been misbehaving. Specifically, any attempt to move or rotate the "hip" body part acts as though the whole body was selected. For example, where prior "lifting" the Victoria 4.2 figure would cause the figure to rise onto her toes, it now simply causes the entire figure to rise; rather than bending over if rotated forward, the entire figure turns in space.

If it makes any difference, the Victoria 4.2 figure was imported from the earlier Poser 8 library- but it never had any problems prior to the update.

Other, non-DAZ figures do not seem to exhibit this behavior.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT to add:

I just checked Vic 4.2 in Poser 8 (I tend to keep at least one prior installation of Poser on hand out of sheer paranoia), and in 8, the hip still moves normally.

Hopefully a Poser user will be able to give a complete answer, I can just make a guess. My guess is the Poser update switched off inverse kinetics.

That would actually be my guess as well. Check Figure / Use Inverse Kinetics on the top line. Make sure that right and left leg have a tick against them. If they don't, then that could be your problem

    Yes, that did the trick.

And I feel stupid for not thinking of it...

Weird that it switched it off for Vic and not for any of the base figures.

    Thanks for the help!
