Octopus Won't Keep His Skin Mats When Posed SOLVED (See Both Normal & Weird Render- Kinda Cool)

I loaded the Octopus, then the Octopus Map cr2, and PARENTED IT TO THE OCTOPUS. When I use the Octopus pose, it moves the texture (Map cr2) and not the octopus. So then I tried posing the octopus first, and then adding the texture, and that didn't work either.

Then I tried parenting the octopus to the texture, and when posed, that didn't work either. I just set up the DIM and am wondering if it's my files or a flaw in the product? Anyone able to apply the Map cr2 file and then pose- and keep the octopus textured?

You can, btw, do each one- use the preset pose for the texture file, then do the same pose on the octopus- which is NOT fine, but passable. But that means you can't pose the octopus any other way- you'd have to drag two objects precisely the same way and nest the materials on top of the octopus.

Well, rendering it, and getting a weird square pattern all over the octopus. So that doesn't work either (to pose one, then pose the textures.)

A CR2 is not a texture map, it is a Poser Character/Figure file, it may well have the texture applied already.

Try loading the CR2 with the texture on it's own without loading another octopus first.

If you are talking about the very old Daz Octopus, you either load the Octopus or you load the Octopus map, which has the texture on it. You don't need to load both and add them to each other in any way. This is a very old model, and some were done this way before Mat poses became the norm.

I'm not sure how many birthdays he's had, he refuses to say :)
Doing just the "octopus map" worked. Thanks! I'm going to have to make a list of files and what they are.
