DIM setting for Content Management Service- Poser And DS

I've just installed DIM, and to setup the new paths, if I am only a DS user, should I do anything so far as Poser formats when I go to the Content Management Service? I did both (to the Daz 3D Library, as recommended) as I was thinking since some products are only Poser. But I don't want a bunch of Poser products that only work in Poser, obviously. I'm looking at Michael 4 and I have a lot of files I don't know about- mc6 and pz2's. I'm doing a separate thread on all the files with him, I don't know what some of these are but that should be a different thread.

Also, in the Content Directory Manager, should I have both the C/ProgramData/DAZ3d/MyDazLibrary AND
    the C/Users/Public/MyDaz3DLibrary?

You should not have any content in C/ProgramData/DAZ3d/MyDazLibrary , so it should not be listed as a content path in DIM. Program Data is normally a 'hidden' folder in windows, and users should not put anything in there.

If you click on the little Gear icon in the DIM, then select 'Downloads', you will see a selection of software with checkboxes beside them. Only select the ones that you want to use. You will still be able to use the Poser content that comes with M4, V4, M3, V3 etc, as DIM knows to put Poser content that DS needs, into the Runtime folder in your 'My DAZ 3D Library' folder, so you wont lose anything.

Thanks so much Jimmy. I did the last paragraph correctly (setting up the DIM Downloads section and I had done that correctly, did not select Poser. I'll go take off the Program Data in the Content Directory Manager, I didn't put it there, it was just there.

You do want C/Users/Public/MyDaz3DLibrary listed as both DS Formats and Poser Formats, both for older content that is in Poser content and so that DS can find the textures.

Now how about this part- "should I do anything so far as Poser formats when I go to the Content Management Service?"
In other words, should that be there? (I know I have it right in DIM, what about here?)

DIM doesn't distinguish between DS and Poser formats, but DS does -- you need it listed under both in Content Directory Manager.

You're referring to the Content Management Service in this post, right? You and I are typing at the same time, I had the window open and you had replied in a post below this one, and I think regarding this same thing.

So I don't have Poser selected in DIM, I do have it in CMS, and only to the mapped directory location you mentioned above. (hope I am using that term right.) And I have that same mapping for the DS files in CMS.

CMS is the database server, it doesn't know or care about directory mappings. Content Directory Manager (Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager) is the part of DS that lets you specify which content folders DS will look at.

Sorry, meant the Manager. Thanks you two. So is this right for the MANAGER?

Edit:(In other words, I am going to match your image. That's what I had done.)

You can do those but only the DS4.5+ is needed for Content.

Okay, I'll remove the other things. I've already installed about 150 things, what impact will those other things have on those files?

It won't make a difference to the content, I leave those selected.
