Adjusting Parts of a Model?

So I recently bought the M180 Walker model and want to customize some parts. It's as basic as making the legs of the walker thinner by adjusting the scale of them. But when those parts are selected, there are no scale options in the parameters menu. When I select the body of the machine, I can adjust that scale, but not other parts.

Do some models come with parts locked?
Is there any way to unlock them so I can adjust their size?

    Try checking show hidden properties in Parameters?

    I haven't found any hidden parameter controls. And there are no shaping controls either.
