Lots of things going on in November:

Nov 01 - NaNoWriMo starts today. I participated the last 4 years
Nov 03 - Time Change. Yeah it's an event. Takes some adjustment on my part lol.
Nov 05 - Mega Prize unlock
Nov 08,09 - 30 Year class reunion. Conference same weekend. I'm doing the conference. I'm not much of a social person.
Nov 15 - X-Rebirth comes out.
Nov 15 - Render contest results. Not that I have a snowball's chance but at least I got up the nerve this time.
Nov 28 - That little thing called Thanksgiving!!!
Nov ?? - PS4, Xbox 1

I'm sure I'm missing something lol. I need a calendar reminder for everything.

Now if I can just combine renders with some of these, I'll have it made. With all of the purchases the past two months I'm in desperate need of render time.

How about you? Big plans for November or no?

November the 5th - Guy Fawkes Night

(But the clocks went back on the 27th October).

Not in America, sadly. I wish we could just get rid of daylight savings altogether.

Nov 3 - Time change that should have been at least a month earlier as it used to be. Getting up in the dark is ridiculous - as is going back to DST as early as we do.
Nov 5 - Mega Prize unlock
    Nov 28 - Thanksgiving
Nov 29 - Black Friday - From this day on through Christmas I will not go to a store except between the hours of 12 and 8 AM.

I support your proposal. I think DST is a case of the minority screwing the majority.

Yes, may have made sense when it was first introduced, but is totally outdated now, and just causes internal clocks to go screwy twice a year.

I saw Thor 2 yesterday (premiere here in NL) so I can scratch that off my list!
    (One word: Loki)
Furthermore, I have several projects who I want to finish like a surprise bundle for the new M6 (for free) and getting my first projects in my store (so excited!).
Also I have been working on a webcomic that I hope to get started soon, so anyone who likes pretty guys should keep an eye out ;)
And I am working with a wonderful artist for another huge project, but I expect that to go on past november, even through 2014.
So yeah, I won't be bored anytime soon :)

Yeah. Totally nonsensical thingy now. We had the time change last weekend and I'm still a bit uncertain why is it already so dark in the early evening :D

Most important things in November? My brother's b-day on Nov 17th (lotsa cow gifts already prepared for that cow maniac) and Day of the Doctor on Nov 23rd ^.^

Promos have been beginning to show G2M/M6. The the mid week is always when Gen 6 characters hit the store. For this month it's the 18th - 22nd.

DST, as I understand it, has been kept in the US because parents don't want their kids going to school in the morning in the dark. Not sure if that's accurate though.

    Thor 2!

It was very entertaining in the cinema...
Thor (all muscle and being an overly manly man) got 0 cheers.
Whenever Loki was on screen, all the women went: "Awwww!"

The irony is, by starting DST as early as they do, and ending it as late as they do that is exactly what is happening. No, the real reason would violate forum rules to discuss. It is the same reason you can't buy real light bulbs in the US.

The theory was that DST would save energy - back when it was first implemented.

Indiana re-adopted DST a few years ago (8? 10? I've lost track) and the studies that came out showed that energy usage increased as a result of the change. And yeah, the local kids have been going to school in the dark for the last month . . .

Yeah, sun didn't come up this morning till 7:30, and it's dark by about 6:30 in the evening. At this point, what good does DST do?

The reason you can't buy incandescent light bulbs anymore is similar to the reason you can't buy leaded gasoline anymore, or aluminum house wiring, or 5 mpg automobiles, or Freon refrigerant, or why you can't just drain the swamps or straighten rivers or clearcut forests.

Given that it's going to be a busy November let's not make extra work for the mods please - ease off on the quasi-politics.

That depends on whether anybody at work offers me a new job, with a promotion tied to it...

Nov 11 - Chicago Cubs plan on having new manager in place so he can fully participate in assembling a sub par major market baseball team for the third year in a row. That way he will have no leg to stand on when he is fired less than two years from now.

I live in a state that doesn't do DST. I don't know the official reason, but I suspect it's something along the lines of "why would we want to extend the heat of the day any later than it goes already?"
