Luxus question - how to turn surface into light?

Hello!

When I use Reality I can simply turn any surface into a light source within the Reality material settings. So it is very easy to create light emitting surfaces, lampsgl, gowing objects and so on just by clicking one button.

But how do I do this in Luxus? It seems that I can change a surface only into a Luxus material, but not into a light. I am sure this can be done, but I don´t know how.

You are, I think, 90% of the way there ... in the surfaces tab (form memory) you have the option of adding in the Luxus/LuxRender properties (metal, volume, etc.). One of those is Light. The trick is to remember that the default setting is for the light emitting is off, so you need to set that to on!

Beaten to the post. And an extra tip to save you from the same hair-pulling I went through when I first added actual LuxRender lights instead of relying on the auto-conversions — the default "exposure" settings for Luxus are on automatic. So if you turn a light up or down you won't see any difference in the render because it's compensated for and turned back to "normal". Go into the Render Settings and change the Tone Mapping Kernel away from "Autolinear".
