I'm happy to announce the release of my first merchant resource set. Not only can you use these in your own products, but they come with a suite of presets that make them easy to use on existing products for end users! Pick them up now and you can get a point for the Platinum Club Power Up bonus :)

Pack two is available now as well!

Here is a set of eight outdoor themed reflection maps to be used as a merchant resource, which includes a variety of DAZ Studio presets for the end user to easily make use of the included maps. Each map is in 32-bit .HDR format (now natively supported in DAZ Studio and easily converted to 16-bit .TIFF), made from seven separate exposure levels for high fidelity brightness response.

Presets for both DAZ Default and Uber Surface shaders means that you can change the reflection maps on owned products without affecting other parts of the shader. Also included are Fantom Reflection Domes which surround the whole scene, providing usage of the maps on surfaces with raytraced reflections without affecting your backgrounds. Turn "Fantom" off to use these Reflection Domes as lower resolution backdrops similar to my HDR Pro-Sets!

I was just saying the other day that normal refelction mapping is not a good idea but these when used with Uber Surface for example are just plain awesome, nice work once again DT.

Thank you Szark! I don't use Environment Mapping much myself but it's useful for when you need the extra rendering speed, I do make use of it when I'm doing animations and such. The Reflection Domes I hope will help people who are confused about raytraced reflections, it should be a quick and easy option for those who expect those reflections to show up without stuff in their scenes to reflect. They're great for portraits and other object renders when you don't want to flesh out the rest of your scene with details :)

I couldn't agree more DT. I am always trying to find different maps for sky domes to do the same so these are a great asset.

Announcement is advertising it as Outdoor Pack 2.
Probably misprint, but high hopes are raised.
    Another in the offing?

Yep! It seems they got their graphics mixed up a bit but the second set is available now!

Also, the rest of my store is now on sale as part of their Carrara promotion! This includes my DAZ Studio stuff as well, not just my Carrara products :)

I have bought the first pack. What are the difference between the first and the second pack?
Will there be more such packs in the near future?

Bought first pack yesterday, purchased second one today.
Please, do not bundle these Saturday and sell cheaper ala Age of Armor.
(not his fault, as I understand).
Would purchase anyway, but would be disappointed.:-)

Yeah from what I heard that was a glitch with marketing that wasn't supposed to go that way which isn't his fault, it's always frustrating when mistakes happen. I don't have any plans to bundle these at this point so there's no worry there, I may make a bundle of four sets when I have another two to include but I don't really have plans for those yet either lol. I'll have to see how well these do before I go forward with more of them :)

As for what's different between the two sets it's the maps that are included and used in the presets. These are essentially HDRIs packaged in a form designed for reflections, most of the value comes from the maps as with other HDRI packs and they can be used the same way as any others (they can be used in Lux Render or Carrara for lighting and other things just like my other sets available on the market).

One more thing. Could I use these HDRI as an environment maps in Unity 3D game engine and distribute compiled games utilizing such maps?

Not at this point, gaming is a different thing that would fall more in line with the other game development licences available on the store here. I've dealt with game development in the past writing music and I'd really like to take part in creating content for them again but I'm not really sure the best way of doing it through the DAZ Marketplace. If you are in need for an HDRI or multiple HDRIs for a project you're working on I'd be happy to work something out, though they would be completely separate from my products here as to not make sale of them in more than one way.

Ok, good to know. I have asked, because you mentioned possible usage of the reflection HDRIs as a merchant resource,
so why not in the games. I have bought many of yours products here at Daz3d and I really like them.
I am a bit disappointed, but I have seen some HDRIs at Unity 3D asset store, so I buy them there to have the proper license.
    No problem.
