No question about it, my favourite character has always been Sadie. I love the flexibility that toon characters provide, and Sadie was the first character figure I ever bought, so I admit to a small amount of bias. These days I use Sadie for Genesis thanks to the extensive wardrobe options, but both her and classic Sadie always find a way into my artwork sooner or later.

I'll always strive towards realism, but it's a goal I've yet to achieve. I always get the effect I want with toons, so Sadie will always have a special place with me.

Interesting thread, always cool to see what others have for their goto characters in case i missed something..

While I don't ever use bought full body morphs (have my own) i do rely on specialized face morphs and my favorite is Bianca from J. King that I use on V4 and genesis.
    http://www.daz3d.com/lr-s-bianca-for-v4
and for skin, I have been getting lots of use out of DM's Briana (with my own makeups and mods for Luxrender)

Here is a quick image with both

Humm, I don't really have 'a' favorite character. If I had to pick a single one, maybe Neila for V4 by moonbunnie. But for V4 I also really like Sarsa / Thorne's Julie, Erika and Anarani. And I like a lot of Mihrelle's characters.

However none of those come with particularly good textures. For Gen 4, imho, texture-wise, there's not much that can compete with DAZ' Elite Textures. They're the best and I use Lana Elite's maps on pretty much any female gen 4 character. Morris and Raiya do great work on textures, too, but there I often don't 'love' the morphing part.

Also, for a free character Betomelo's 'Bruuna' is pretty darn amazing.

For Gen 6, though, I have to admit I think all of the base shapes look pretty damn great and come with very, very good textures as well. For Gen 6 alone, my favorite at this point is probably Gia (although I really like them all, even The Girl, which is a figure I used to hate), simply because DAZ releasing a muscular female base shape, with it's own Pro Bundle and all, as the second shape after Victoria still feels like something from the Bizarro World :D

    ...same here.

I rarely use a single 'Realistic" character by "out of the box" as I tend to work more with the morph sliders and often modify them to the point they no longer quite resemble the character in the promo. With Genesis and GenX, this has become more extreme as I can mix them together (along with toon characters).

But that little toon girl Sadie and her "partner in crime" Sam just have so much personality I find them hard to resist.

Here's an oldie where I recreated a scene from one of my favourite films with both of the toon kids (Sadie with the Sadie 16 morph) playing the lead roles (original versions) and Gramps back on the porch.

This probably doesn't count nor what you probably had in mind, but my fave character is the Sasquatch! But as you can see I kind of bend the rules on what is traditional.

Seriously though. I'd have to give a nod to Axel for the guys also. Great all around guy character.

Oh, Thinking outside the box are we? I have to agree that for touching on what might be controversial ideas in art, The Sasquatch is a brilliant character and I love that it comes with varied skin tones for under all that hair. That along with the Gorilla, I love that one.

The other thing I like is that since I don't do horror, I get to have a 'creature' behave in a way that might not be consistent with with the Hollowieners!

Happy rendering and thanks for sharing everybody but what other character rates "best"?

I really don't do Halloween either. I'm not much of a horror person in that respect. Thanks for mentioning Gorilla. I'll have to check it out. I'm a Planet of the Apes fan from way back. Hmmmm now that might give my age away lol.

I LOVE the gorilla and you'll find that the supersuit for genesis fits him rather well for making different uniforms for your Gorilla soldier army that resulted from Monsatan's genetic engineering program... thats already happened in your timeline, right? Hope you like it. I did this picture a while back for fun.

Kewl pic. It's only 5 o'clock in the morning and I'm eyeing the Gorilla figure for Genesis lol. Actually I had it in the cart and tried my coupons but they didn't work but I can see the gorilla in my runtime sometime today!

Talking from my memory mostly, but most used creature skin for Generation 3 was Afterlife for M3 and Dulary for V3 (which I converted for Gen4 and still use)
Probably the most used after its release male skin was Andre for M3
Most used female texture for Gen 3 was Aery Soul's free Luna texture.
But my favorite were Dragon Inks for SP3 and D3

The texture I've used most often for Generation 4 men is Derek for M4 (his promotions are skewed by some reason)
And for females the most used was Rio for V4 (take a look)
But my favorite were Okami for women and The Last Gladiator for men and basically everything by Surreality, Arki and _Samildanach_.
I'm also using Briallen a lot for its skin setup.

My favorite men texture for Genesis is Sean for David5, Zoey for V5 for women, and I don't really have a favorite creature texture for Genesis mapping.

I have several favourites actually and it's hard to actually just choose a few but I'll try :), the ones I have from FWArt are used a LOT (Neomi, Sian, Eve, Naida, Nalin for example). Other favourites is Bellatrix (don't have the hag yet unfortunately, but badly want her too), Norma (love the old Classic moviestar look of her) and I must admit I adore the ogre :)

As for male characters I have been making eyes at Santo for M5, Johan for M5 and Ryuu for M5, just have ot get a chance to pick them up *grins*

The two pics below shows off the ogre with Eve and other pic is Bellatrix (both of them have their stories and can be found on the forum, think both of them are in the PC Anniversy render contest with teir respective story :) )

Gosh, I was wanting Hetrocromia option for a character and was going to resort to making my own eye texture.
Maybe I might just grab Axel instead.

I have to agree with you about the Elite textures for V4 like Lana. I've been trying to convince DAZ3D to do a set for V6 but apparently that may be a while in the making.

If you like Gia then chances are you'd probably be a fan of Aspen.

Lots of great characters here - it's always nice to see what the characters look like in the hands of the users.

Here is my favorite, Bridged, a Genesis 1 character. This is just a whip (both the image and the character) that I thought I'd post since it came out OK, but it needs a lot more work to improve the pose (a canned pose for A5), and to add SSS to the skin settings in Octane. Bridged is my own character, based on V5, with some V4, G4, and a lot of other morphs added.

For "out of the box" characters - G4 is my favorite (and several of the characters based on G4).

...again as I tended to depend more on the morph sliders, I never really used many of the "realistic" character morphs "out of the box".

Two however that frequently figured into my character building were Thorne/Sarsa's Tommi and Jamminwolf's Tindra Thompson.

I must confess, there is another Genesis character skin I very much appreciate: Male-M3dia's Ashley for M5. This one is the only realistic male skin that is clean and hairless. It also has some nice teen/youth morphs as well.

Male-M3dia, if you see this, please make more like Ashley! Especially in other skin colors and tones! I WILL buy! :)

My favorite model is Genesis2f but I'm always falling back on older character skins. Your picture looks Great and the morph on that Akae is great! I can see why you love this character... its form is so beautiful.

For me, the best are almost always a Frankenstein cocktail of different character parts... I was thinking about what one of the other posters said about using morphs all the time to make the characters and that really is the strength of V6 with its improved shaping ability.. Add into it a blend of other tweaks and you can create whatever form you want.

I love that we can make the characters pregnant or just heavier. I don't know why but my characters always seem to end up looking like they just feel into a game of 'Suckerpunch'. I thought I would try out A Rapture... but I was thinking about Fairuza Balk, the actress. Go figure.

Interesting how much this thread has focused on Male-M3dia/ForbiddenWhispers/JS Graphics characters... They are certainly among my favorites (I own Abigail, Ashley, Braxton, and Santo, plus Male-M3dia's Tweens). Always impressed with both the textures and the morphs. As far as the morphs are concerned, it's rare to find the same incredible range of options in other characters. I use them all the time...sometimes on their own, but more often in combination with morphs from other sources. Santo in particular is worth mentioning because of the variety of the morphs: 16 head morphs, 16 body morphs, plus 12 partial body morphs (including some great ones for hands and feet). And...the texture options are remarkable too: facial hair, makeup, vampire skin, etc. I always shop for versatility. How a character looks by default is less important to me than what I can do with it. Which is not to say that Santo and the others don't look great on their own. ;-)

Ashley and Braxton have tons of morph and texture options too. I used Braxton morphs for all of my Tudor characters, and used his texture on Prince Edward.

I don't own Axel yet, but after seeing all the reviews and renders in this thread, I added him to my wishlist.

I second this endorsement--used him on my Tudor characters too. It was the combination of Thomas plus Braxton plus Zev0's Aging and FaceWeight morphs that helped me capture the look of Henry VIII. I used other morphs too, but those were the key ingredients.

Here's a render of Phoenix1966's Stefan, another of my favorites. It's a WIP...still need to work on the eyes, etc. But hopefully it shows why I like the character.
