Terai Yuki

I had to take a little break from Daz for the last week or so. I was getting a little overwhelmed with trying to get my mind around Octane Render and all those little nuances in rendering. I was a little stymied by the fact that I couldn't use the Subsurface Toon shaders with Octane, which meant going back to image based UVs, but I haven't yet found a toon textued based on images that I liked like SSS Toons. So I went back to an old Poser project of mine. I like to call her Terai Yuki 3 but she doesn't have an official name. Terai Yuki was one of the first human models I purchased and I was somewhat saddened by the way she sort of fell by the wayside when it came to development, so I took it upon myself to see if I could give her an up to date look. Talk about biting off more than you can chew...

I put the project down about six months ago because I was having an issue with the textures that I hadn't quite worked out to my satisfaction. I basically frankensteined her to Alyson2/Anastasia to give her a more current look. The first picture was a progression from the start to my drop off point where I couldn't get the head texture UV to mate properly with the neck. It was like she had two tones for a while there. In the second picture, you can see it right at the base of her neck where the two meshes are joined.

I started back to work on her last night hoping for some inspiration for my other project and I made a lot of progress thanks to Realitypaint. I'm not real fond of the interface, but I was able to solve the problem in front of me with some effort. Anyway the change of pace was what I needed and the result came out pretty good.

    Brilliant! I love the proportions.

It came out pretty well. I was rather saddened by the fact that e-frontier never updated her or their Nearme figures. They had so much potential, but were kind of left by the wayside.
