Will Clothing and other content for Victoria 4.2 Work with Victoria 4?

I see alot of clothing and content for Victoria 4.2. Will this content still work on Victoria 4 or do I have to get the Victoria 4.2 to use it? I am new to the program and I'm starting to get the handle on things, but I am still finding things that I can't seem to find an explanation for. This is one of them. I love the Victoria 4.2 content and would like to use it. I'm pretty sure that I can just fit it to Genesis 2 female, but I also like the look of Victoria as well and would like to have the variety. Can anyone help me out here? Also do I need any extra plugins? I'm really concerned with content not working or fitting right and also worried about poke holes.

If you are a newcomer then the Victoria 4 that you purchased should be the 4.2 version. Do you perhaps mean the Victoria 4 shape for Genesis, or Victoria for Genesis 2 Female?
About being a newcomer, that answer is yes and no. I had originally downloaded and purchased items from Daz3D back in 2011. I may have gotten Victoria 4 then or have had it stored on my external from a different time. I just recently decided to have another go at Daz3D. I have the Victoria 4.2 already, but just wondered if the content will also work for V4 since I have more poses and expressions for V4.
I'm really not sure if I have the V4 shapes for Genesis. I am still figuring out what I have and don't have. I am also starting to wrap my mind around all the confusing compatibility stuff, but I haven't found much information as to whether the products are backwards compatible or not.
I haven't really gotten around to working with the Victoria 4.2 yet to see if I will like her better than V4 or not. I want to know all I can about what is compatible with what. If anyone can help me with that so that I know just what I can do with all the products I get.
Also I ran across a vendor that has a required character as Vicky4, am I wrong to assume that she is referring to Victoria4? I am also assuming that the Victoria4 and 4.2 content will work for Genesis too?
All Victoria 4s are pretty much the same figure - 4.1 added the eyebrow layer as a new body part attached to the head and as I recall unembedded the morphs but essentially, aside from textures that use the eyebrow (very few) they are the same as far as the user is concerned though some content (mainly morph packs) does have a minimum required version. You could have Victoria 4 and 4.2 installed at once, I think, but there would be pretty much no point in doing so.
It looks like I'm pretty set and good as far as the Victoria figures is concerned!! Thanks Richard for all your help and knowledge. I really do appreciate it!! I'm glad to hear that I don't have to worry so much as to which Victoria I am using when it comes to clothing and such. This will make things go alot faster for me when I am creating my renders!!!
