Good to see you John. We miss you up in here.

Cheers Dude. Life's been a bit hectic in my real world for the last six months, so not had a chance to play in my virtual world of automotive loveliness. I have been lurking periodically though.

I'm not even sure I have any meritus archive images I could post to keep the ball rolling.

Looking forward, I have been quite impressed with the Octane renderer. This has a distinct advantage for me in that it is compatable across multiple software suites. It seems quite fast and powerful and would save me time having to take everything into Max to use Iray. I feel an investment coming on.

    Very nice render.

If I may make a suggestion - If you crop the image just beyond the cars rear that then puts the girl closer to the focal point of the golden ratio. The image then feels more balanced.

I was trying to capture a little bit more of the train however, so cropping the picture would also involve chopping off the front of the train itself, since the girl really isn't the focal point of the render, but rather the 47 Olds and the Super Chief are.

The Oldsmobile is a very nice model. I've been playing around with it for about a week. Even the emblems are modeled and not just textures. The only bad area is around the headlights, it's not a smooth as the rest of the model.

I've only been playing with it for about the same amount of time, true, the headlights leave a little to be desired!

I wish that area was as good as the rest of it. Don't know why they had to screw that part up.

Sure looks like it but it's a shame because of all the good work that was done on the rest of it.

It could also be that the person who actually made the model, couldn't do headlights for some reason, while they were certainly able to do all the other complex shapes, for some reason that couldn't do that simple one very well.

If you can get PoseRay to do that, your better at it than I am. I tried but just could get it to do it. It need to do just the headlight area and not the whole car. The headlights look like a low poly mesh compared to the rest of the car. .

Poseray only works on the whole model, the whole model isn't the problem, just the headlights are the problem, I might pull my obj back into Blender and see if I can find a fix there, especially since you can break things down part by part in Blender.

I found this really nice 1967 Chevelle SS 396. One of my favorite all time muscle cars. Very fast! Very quick for a big block.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make the Chevelle work in DAZ Studio, I did however, get the 34 Chevy Coupe to work!

The suggestion was crop behind the car . You would loose the green car but, because there is so little of it in the image it is a distraction. You can't include a girl in a picture to be viewed by humans and suggest she isn't going to be the focal point; that's not how we work ;-)

It can still be suggested that she isn't the focal point of the render, especially since she is facing toward the train, but then, would she see you if you happen to be a leg and butt man?

Still trying to get the Olds to work in Daz. Can't get the textures to apply now. The tires are whacked too. I will give up on this one for a while.
