Now where did you find that? 3D Warehouse?

yeah that was a conversion i made bout 1 1/2 years ago

Oh! You made that? While its a good effort, and far better than I can do, the material zones for the chrome trip going around the bat wings also includes the top portions of the body, and the drivers seat!, so to make the proper chrome, the seat is also chrome! Ouch!

yeah well sketchup is very primitive and i dont have access to dazz or 3ds

But DAZ is free, so is Blender, and while I realize you need a way of converting sketchup models to obj files, I use a ruby to do that, and for dff files I use Blender, as there is a Blender plugin for that as well, standard, Blender will import 3ds files.

Yep, the material zones are a mess on this one, obviously someone tried to make an El Camino from one of the hardtops, so the back end isn't very well done.

yeah i need to work on that. hey could u render something for me?

What is it you need rendered? I can render a lot of things, but then, so can you!

Well, I've got the rims done including the center hub steering system (but not he swing-arms and control struts yet). I still have no idea how to rig this thing yet so that turning the handlebars will work the control struts to turn the wheel like this

Dude, are you kidding? It's turning into a real story here. I'd have to go back pages to follow the plot. :-)

And in the next episode of "Kids Make Cars" Freddie gets some proper software but then doesn't have a PC to use it on and Joey gets a girlfriend.

Just kidding guys, Keep up the good work.

No, we need a real story here, it must involve many renders, with cars, bikes, girls, girls, and did I mention, uh! Girls!

Dang...see what I miss by not paying much attention to this thread?

Just too many RL car problems to think about 3D ones...but at least 3D ones don't get busted brake lines or power steering pumps blowing a seal and spewing ps fluid all over your exhaust...and the resulting DRAMA that caused (think big billowing clouds of smoke...and flame...fortunately nothing too seriously damaged...due to me dumping loads of snow on everything...but that's really another story...)

LOL! Well at least you had some snow to throw on it! Down here in the Sunshine state, we are lucky to have rain, oh! Wait, no, we are lucky to actually have sunshine!

Betsy. Another SE Florida resident here, I did see snow once here in the late 70's but it didn't stick. Having been born and raised in Chicago, I don't miss it one bit.

My sister was here in November and constantly complained about the heat. She is from St. Paul, when she got home it was -1, I just laughed.

It was a beautiful day on the golf course today, High of 78, low of 62 tonight, just perfect.

Beautiful Jaguar by the way. Nice render.

I have two snowballs in my freezer from where it snowed years ago here in South Ga...they are still capable of being thrown!

nice Jag Betsy! I like the second render best.

Oh! Your in the Miami/Ft Lauderdale area then, I'm just north of Tampa Bay myself, it gets cold enough to snow here, but we only get rain ahead of a front, and it usually isn't cold at that point, it is supposed to get cold here in a couple more days.

The Jag is from the warehouse, its another download I found from Lowriderfreak, he does have some nice conversions there alright.

Started on the engine and it's actually turning out better than I expected. I still need to make adjustments and finish the details on the right hand side, but it's definitely coming along. Let me know what you think.

The good news is...it's either the power steering pump or the high pressure line...nothing too serious.

So now I can go back to enjoying 3d vehicles while waiting for the van to get fixed.

Here is the GTA Vice City 1959 Chevrolet Apache Pickup. It turned out real nice. Looks pretty good right out of the box. The engine is very detailed too. Here it is with shaders.
