Longing for the past

I installed the latest version of DS4.6 which is 4.6.1.17 working on the theory that its always best to be up to date. Since then i have noticed a significant slow down in performance. Okay i accept that there are issues concerning memory, and that although i have 16GB of ram, i still might experience sluggish performance to a degree. To counter this i always make sure i close all other applications, so that i use only the memory thats necessary.
Now to make sure the entire picture is available, yesterday i also upgraded my OS to the new Apple Mavericks OS10.9. So maybe the two upgrades taken together might have had some effect. Anyone else experiencing similar slow downs, any ideas what the cause might be, and can i turn back time by reverting to the previous version of Daz which was working really well...

    ALWAYS keep a copy of the old version- put it on an external hard drive. ALWAYS. It will be removed from the Product Library when a newer version comes out. Then it's gone forever for you. Just wanted to say you're not the only one, my 4.5 was a lot faster than the 4.6 newest version.

    I actually have a back up on time machine, so i will try that route. Thanks for the reply...
