Need help fixing Smart Content

Hi
Me again. My smart content has decided to quit working. It is showing the content in the various categories, but each icon is indicating that the item is not to be found. I have tried resetting database and re-importing the meta-data, then cold booting my computer, bu nothing is working;. The files are still there. I can find them through the Content Library, but how do I fix the Smart Content?

    If it's displaying the items it's not a CMS problem. Can you select an item that doesn't work, right-click and choose "Browse to file location", and post the full path?

    It says that the file does not exit when I left click. When I right click and choose show in content library - it does nothing. There is a triangle with an exclamation for each item. I know the files are there because I went to the product in the content library and verified, then left directory before trying to locate by right clicking.

    What is the path to where the files really are, and what do you have listed in Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager for DS-formats and Poser-formats?

    The path is what first checked and it matches.

    The trouble is that if I remove the Studio 4 directory - I lose EVERYTHING that I installed with DIM.

    I'm about ready to give up on this computer's smart content - I made the changes (except I did leave Studio 4 directory alone) and now I have nothing showing up under Smart Content. I have closed Studio and cold booted the computer - nothing. reset and re-imported smart content - nothing. Closed and rebooted - still nothing. The Smart Content was working earlier this week. Even The Surface Tab isn't coming up with any items any more.

    Any suggestions before I uninstall and reinstall Studio?

    Why in the world did you install content to there? Just add that one to the list above then. The DIM auto Defaults to the MY DAZ 3D Library. I always just used it and then added my other folders like my DS3A Content folder.

    I've had files installed there since DIM was available. It is my way of being able to access the products that I have not downloaded yet but still want to use. My laptop has the same directory setup and is still working.

    Studio 4 WAS still in the directory listing when no smart content appeared.

    A failed or Crashed CMS Database is one thing that will cause Smart Content to fail until a new Database is created. I hope that is your issue. The Old Database must be removed or nothing seems to work until it is removed and a clean one created.

    Trying to recreate the Database didn't work, butn unistalling Studio and then recreating finally did.

    Thank you for all your help and patience. (Yay! I can work without fighting again)
