I only have 32bit mimic and I found the DMC in the daz plugin folder in the x86 program folder  i don't have any dmc after genesis 2 either which is a Bummer: if anyone wants to share their..lol    I've been pretty much been importing the voice audio into the timeline and doing the lip-sysnce by hand using the dials, by following the audio along on the timeline keyframes in 64bit version of daz.  Its not prefect but been working pretty well that way

Wendy - you use the Genesis 3 dmc still should be in that folder though

OK I'll look there and yes G8 starter essentials installed but I feel my content is now a mess - was all under control before DIM and genesis LOL !

Finally my promised attempt with the lipsinc. Every step forward seemed to go back three - nothing I have been doing seems to have gone smoothly requiring time out to investigate.

That includes abominable internet connection now resolved enabling me to upload the video. Discovered/ learnt many things on the way.

First up  the original file was far too long- creating so many phoneme clips made too hard for editing. I broke it down in to roughly 4 sec blocks which is my normal limit. That made six tracks.

Then mad six text files for mimic but found Carrara does a credible job of analysing WITHOUT text. So after messing withthe first couple of tracks I dispensed with the text.

Next up mimic creates a lot of very tiny clips. A quick deletion of these seemed to smooth things out and made it easier to refine what was left.

Slicing the video introduced  some other considerations which at first I overlooked. EG Keeping same camera , lighting settings so that each render is the same setup.

I also found turning off "one" of the gesture options seemed to turn off all - that is why in video there are at times head movement and others none. Need more testing on this. I did not attaempt creating head or expressions manually. Can lead to some weird things so more test/practice is necessary.

Originally I started with G2 but found my G2 Male had no eyes - I tried replacing the maps but no luck there. Made various inquiries here about Genesis in general which ended in me reverting to "good old M4.

As I had M4 Morphs ++ I was able to "quickly" create the mean looking character. In between times have been looking at Iclone with hope to reproduce animation in that for comparison but my adventure so fa with iclon is as exciting as with Genesis - dah Demo just stopped working after an update. Ticket lodged.

So without further ado here is the video.  Not happy with it but didn't wish to delay furrther. Anyway the exercise taught me a few things and helped hone my lipsinc skill.

PS Forgotten how to get video to appear in message - hints please

For those whom do not know, Lip Sync uses the same dmc files as Mimic.  Including G8.  All you have to do is navigate to the mimic configuration folder and copy the Genesis8.dmc, or Genesis 8_1.dmc files when Lip Sync prompts you to load a configuration file. I've tested this and the lip sync works much better than Mimic or Anilip2.  I mean you can almost read the charactor's lips it's so close.

this is the Carrara forum although one can indeed save lipsymc poses in DAZ studio and use them in Carrara
