[Solved] Setting Transparency in Daz Studio Surfaces

I have a "totally noob" question regarding setting transparency using the surfaces tab in Daz Studio.

For example, let's say I want to have a semi-transparent top.  On the materials tab in Poser, I can simply set the transparency. However, in Daz Studio, I am not finding where to change that value?

I'm sure it's something simple, but I am not seeing/finding it. What setting to I change to set transparency?

Thanks in adavnce

It's called Opacity for 3DL standard shaders, and Cutout Opacity for Iray uber shader

  • Opacity/Cutout Opacity (depending on the sahder applied). Because DS uses Opacity and Poser Transparency the results with intermediate values will not match - for example if you set both to 50% and apply a map the Poser surface will vary between fully opaque and half transparent while the DS surface will vary between fully transparent and half transparent.

  • Thank you both!!

I'll have to play around with the surfaces tab more...
