So, I grabbed the new ball joint dolls....how cool ;)

When I try to apply the texture for the doll on Genesis 2 Female, I get this "error" message

/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 2/Female/UV Sets/DAZ 3D/Victoria 4/Victoria 4.dsf

What am I missing....??

Please forgive me...I am VERY new to Daz....

    Try asking here

I don't have the Genesis 2 version but the Genesis version uses V5 UV, except for the tear surface which uses V4 this might be the problem if you don't have the V4 for Genesis 2. Does the texture apply despite the error?

I have both versions of the BJD, and have tried each on their respective bases.

On the Genesis figure, the texture applies, and yes, on Gen 2 as well, but they look...."see through" in spots until you render.

Afaik it really is supposed to be that. PITA but that's the nature of the beast. As you pointed out it will render fine.

Yes it does make tweaking poses a pain. I don't have a workaround though :red:

Sorry I'm not more help :-S

That has to do with viewport OpenGL and use of transmaps, which causes these kind of phenomenas.

I'm removing the trans maps until I'm ready to render.

OK, I suppose as long as it works, it's really no big deal....but, yeah...a PITA for sure! lol

    Thanks!

The transmaps thing is a necessary side effect of having transmaps on the body texture. If you want to remove transmaps you won't get parts of the limbs made invisible around the ball joints, that's all.

The V4 UV issue is not one we've heard of before, but if you hit the + sign in the content library screen in that materials folder once it's applied and save it back to library it shouldn't happen again.

Oh, thanks! Yes, I will save it back to the folder :D

I figured I needed something else installed or something...like I said, I am very new to Daz...I like my poser, lol!! But, on with the times...Genesis it is!!
