Daz Studio Changing Desktop Resolution Please Help

edited December 1969 in New Users

This is something new, and I must have messed with something in Daz Studio.

What is happening is:

Daz Studio, when started, is opening at 640X480 screen resolution, while my PC desktop is 1600X900 resolution.

Once Daz Studio starts, the PC desktop also turns to 640X480 and things do not return to normal until I shut down Daz Studio.

I had almost no issues with Daz previous to today, at least with screen resolution, which has gone low and made things unworkable.

I am sure I selected some wrong option, but I cannot find my way out.

Help would be much appreciated for returning to my Daz Studio screen resolutionof 1600X900 from the current low resolution of 640X480
Daz can detect my NVIDIA GT 630 card as before.

Resetting interface to factory defaults didn't help.

Does you system have two different video chipsets? If it does, which is DS set to use?

My PC has an inbuilt chipset that comes with the intel motherboard cpu, and an extra graphics card from Nvidia

Every software uses the graphics card from Nvidia, as Daz also used to do.

When I check for video card on Daz Studio, it still shows the Nvidia graphics card, which is high resolution

    I am stumped

But I remember before the resolution change happened I was tinkering around to change the background color, and then some option about resolution had come in - but now I cannot find those options or settings to change things back.

did you try clicking the middle button at the top right hand corner .
or under EDIT - click Preferences

I have tried both. I have tried resetting to factory defaults under edit > preferences, no help.

This must be a setting related to daz studio application viewed at given resolutions , I just can't find it.

If it's something that's affecting your entire desktop, right click on your desktop > screen resolution.

I have done that. It is set to 1600X900

This is happening only when I am starting up Daz Studio - everything including Desktop and Daz goes to 640X480, and desktop returns to normal as soon as I close Daz.

I can't even use daz at the current resolution which makes it difficult for me.

Any help would be appreciated to reset the application's screen resolution.

Have you tried seeing if there was an updated driver for your nVidia card? I've gotten 2 updates in the last month on my card.

Maybe you accidentally set the "Run in 640x480 screen resolution" switch in the "Compatibility" tab of the shortcuts properties. Right-click on the shortcut to call up Properties.

I updated one last update for good measure, though did not include the beta.

    THANK YOU!!!

The problem was that neither the shortcut, nor the exe file was set to 640X480 under compatibility settings on the face of it.

It was in the exe file, when I clicked "settings for all users" that the window which opened up showed 640X480 ticked inside.

Many many thanks for this great community and to jestsmart, and all friends who tried to help.

    Much obliged.
