    if you checkmark the 'Far Hit ( it's far out man ) checkbox, instead of stopping at the inner wall of the skull they will stop at the last hit point , so, for example, at the surface of the ears, or at the surface of the eyeballs

    - it requires my free mcjCollider plugin

    - it probably works better on non-fitted hair and even objects/props

     as you can see in the next post the 'hair' was a primitive-sphere

    I like the new option. Here is my first attempt with a high resolution sphere OBJ. I made the sphere by subdividing a cube, so the UV is kind of wacky for a sphere, but it creates an interesting pattern in the "sock".

    I call it Floyd with a Sock on his Head.

    I changed the taper on my "sock" from 5 to 12 and I was surprised to see the sphere extended way down below the plane. These images are the sphere and plane with the mcjFitHat at 100% and 0%.

    glad it gets used by.others than me i'll hesitate.less to add hats to my renders, it's part of the plan to make spring begin before March 21 by the way.

    Thanks for all your great scripts. Unfortunately your web page is being clipped so I can't get to the download all button. I'm not sure what the problem is but I have tried in Chrome, IE11, and Edge browsers and all had the same result

    Edited to clarify that I can't get to the 'download all as a zip' button

    It look like your scroll bar is not all the way to the bottom. Is that the problem. (Seems to easy to be true, but just in case, I thought I'd suggest it.)

    I was taking a screen shot to show that you can't get to the download all as a zip button. From your screen shot it looks like you have the same problem

    I don't think there is a single arrow to download all of the zip files at once. I don't think you even need to download all of them. One is for Windows 32 bit, one is for Windows 64 bit, one is for Macintosh, one is source code, etc. I only downloaded the one for Windows 64 bit and the manual.

    Look at the section in red. Previously when I have gone to mCasual's site the line lead to a button to download all as a zip button

    i never saw ( or implemented ) an arrow button to download all zip files as one zip file so the way it's meant is, you click on the little down-arrow and you get 1 file, sometimes that file is a zip file, sometimes it's a pdf, sometimes it's a dll. sometimes google or your antivirus will go parano and try to prevent you from downloading dlls, but there never was a virus distributed.by my site

    That is for Macintosh. Are you using a Mac?

    Since it's a morph, it can be partially dialed up to make a "hat hair" morph.  I can think of some scenarios where that could be good for a laugh in a render.

    After playing with the collider and other mcjScripts for some time I found this one by accident. No offence meant but the handling is quite complicated. I read the description more than once. So I added a few (100+) lines of code around mcjHats. The modified version adds - and removes after execution - the collider on its own. It also adds the plane above the ears.
    Just added an orbit camera (https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/85971/a-script-to-orbit-camera-around-a-point) so one can check the result and toggle the morph and the plane visibility within the script.

    I tested it with Win64/DAZ Studio/mcjCollider and I'm happy to share the code with you: https://github.com/godly/daz3d-scripts

    Click the 'Clone or Download' / 'Download ZIP' button to fetch a copy and to extract its content folder to your content folder. Select the hair and run the script. That's all. I don't intend to hijack this thread while it would be nice to know whether this simplified version gets used.

     

    PS: The logic to create the morph is mCasuals one, don''t credit me if it fails while I hope that the code I've added is error-free and mCasual will assimilate it. So nearly the same icons are used and you may use either mCasuals' or this version as different installation pathes are used.

    I really like the way the script is working on the hair in this. (actually the whole render is great.)

    I have a question(s) though that maybe no one has noticed. Above her right brow, where the scarf is meeting the hair, it appears that the hair is going through the scarf. Above her forehead it appears to be great with just a bit of "gap" but the brow looks chopped. Is this a setting that can be adjusted or is it a trial and error type of thing, (much older computer, so renders take a LOOOOooong time.)

     

    I've also noted that on a few other renders, the hair is going through ears, can this script be used to resolve that as well, (Maybe as the "sock" example?)

    Edit to add: have downloaded simply because as it is, it appears to resolve 98.999% of the issue with "hats". And I'm weird, hats are just one of those "I don't know why I like them, but I do" type of things.

    below the hat line, the hair-shrinking effect goes from 0 percent and reaches 100 percent at the altitude of the plane and above. you may solve some issues by moving that plane lower od higher than the level where the hat meets the head, then tweaking the strength of the hat-fit morph. Also by adding collision objects to what the collider collides against

    I'm confused..what on this image do I need to download. This is the page I was led to from the first post and the mention of a version 2...? So ya a bit confused as to what I need to download to make sure you hats script works, cause I can't see version 2 in the list.

    the system to fit the hair has 2 parts

    1 - the mcjCollider plugin which does millions of computations, which is why it's a plugin and not a script

    2 - the mcjHatsAreTheFashionOfTheDay script which uses the services of mcjCollider to squeeze the hair

     

    the page you show me is correct, it's for the mcjCollider plugin for Daz Studio 4.5 and up

    you need one of the 3 files dated February 19th 2019

    the dylib one is the plugin for MACs

    the mcjColliderDS45_64bit.dll  is for 64bit PCs

    mcjColliderDS45.dll is for 32bit PCs

     

    in the case of the script mcjhatsarethefashionoftheday the most recent version is February 20th 2019
