"Fit to" Victoria 6 turns out all wrong.

Of course my first attempts at DS are with a Victoria 6 and nearly all of the extra shoes, clothing and whatnot have all been made for Gen or Gen2. Sometimes the "Fit to" works, but most of the time it's just comically wrong. Should I just be fitting something like Wilmap's Genesis Thigh Boots to Victoria or is there some other way (the boots end up kind of in the right central axis position, but about 4 virtual inches too low so her toes stick out of the top of the shoes)?

First, one warning, shoes are the worst items to autofit from one generation to another, second only to long dresses and aprons.
If you want to use shoes for Genesis on Genesis 2 it will sometimes work, sometimes not, the same with shoes from Gen 4 on Genesis or Genesis 2. For Genesis 1 there is Sickleyields kit that does a good job using transfer utility.

So, when it comes to shoes, try first to use items made for the same figure generation as the figure you are going to fit the on.

Do you get the AutoFit dialogue when you fit non-Genesis 2 Female clothes to G2F?

Note that V6 is Gen2. She's a morph based on G2F, not a separate, independent figure — the same goes for the original Genesis and all the Generation 5 figures. If something's made to fit G2F, it should also fit V6 and vice-versa.

Most of the clothes I have made for Genesis 1 will fit Genesis 2 Female quite well, but not all. I haven't got any of the shoes to fit. They would all need to be converted to make them usable. Not an easy job either.

My personal 'trick' I like to use with shoes particularly is to re-scale them, rather than using any special 'fit-to' package or command. Increase the scale slightly for the shoe (works better for boots or tennis shoes rather than high heels or sandals), and then position the shoe itself to fit over the foot, parenting as necessary.

Re-scaling is no-cost. I believe someone sells a package in the Daz Store that will handle resizing of clothing items, too, but not sure it works as well with shoes.
