Animating a camera around a static background. Possible?

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to Daz3D. I have been working slowly to figure things out. I built a 3D scene using the GIS Orion platform, M4 and V4 along with a space background to make a decent looking space scene. Nothing earth shattering, but progress for me.

I would like to animate the camera to move around the figures, maybe move outside the building and look back in through the window. But I'm having trouble animating the camera to do the moves I have in mind. It seems what's really happening is that the camera is static, and the scene moves around it, including the background.

This is easy to do in After Effects. Just keyframe the position of the camera and move it around static objects.

So..how can I get the background to remain static while I move the camera? The background moves around along with everything else!

I had a thought that I may need to add the background after I record the shot.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

If your Using a Background Image loaded into the BG Channel that is what you will see. To do what your after you need a DOME or Sphere Sky prop with the Star Image mapped to it. Then the Stars will stay fixed as your camera moves. The Image based BG is designed to stay Fixed to the camera position at all times to keep the image in the camera's viewport, that I believe is what your seeing.

    Ahh...

Ok, well...will I be able to attach my image to the dome or sphere sky, or do they come with their own images?

And can you recommend a prop for this effect?

    Thanks!

I'm afraid I do not have a Star field one but think the set with the solar system, sold here, might have something like what you need. For the life of me the name escapes me right now.

Here is what I have so far.

I was hoping for more than just a star field. Sounds like it may not be possible.

    Thanks for the replies...
