So I have been tooling around with the Garibaldi plugin for Daz. Great product. My render engine of choice is Octane Render but i'm having problems with the hair not showing in Octane. Is it possible to export the hair with my character to Octane and if so, could someone please explain the steps to me? Or is it not possible for Octane to render the hair?

Garibaldi does not yet support OBJ export of the hair which is the only way of getting it into Octane atm cause Octane does not support Renderman RiCurves

Are you sure? I think it may have a beta tag, but as I recall Garibaldi does have OBJ export.

Garibaldi does support OBJ export. I have never used it, but I know people have used it with LuxRender.

    See for example: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/17751/P105

That was rendering the OBJ export in LuxRender via Reality. It is a long thread and there are other posts in it also about LuxRenders.

The problem with using LuxRender or Octane is you cannot use the Garibaldi shader. You have to figure out how describe the martial so it looks like hair. A potential problem with Octane is that Gariabaldi hair will produce a very large number of polygons that may exceed your graphics cards capacity limits. You may have to reduce the number of hair strands generated in the OBJ.

but Futurebisciut did say that OBJ export was not supported with the first release even though he included it.

Hey guys. You can use Garibaldi in Octane. After sitting down and finally trying to figure it out, you have to export obj. and then reimport the obj. back into Daz. And the vram usage isnt bad if you set the value to 1. Now its off to make a custom shader for Octane to use.
