Stunning- I think that is contest-worthy :)
Thanks Novica, I redid it changing the lighting a bit as was pointed out the foreground shadows didn't match the background shadows very well so I followed the suggestions from Spotted Kitty and flipmode in the FM environment thread to parent the light to the skybox and I do think it looks much better so am reposting my new version :)
Nice one! And I agree...the lighting and shadows look more consistent now.
I liked the first version better it seems to catch the "desert sun" ambience... only that that was missing is haze of some kind because of all the dust and sand... but I would have no idea what way would be the best to go on that... prolly checking out stock photos would be a help on that.
@Scott - thank you very much for the comments
@Frequenz5 - thank you for your input , I was thinking of trying out a fog camera or postwork to add some type of haze to somehow show the heat of the desert, probably a bigger challenge than my skills as of yet :)
if I find something while I´m on my tut hunt I`ll drop a line.
But try out a summer sun type of light (prolly would reflect of the horses fur abit as well).... this morning I could barely look out of the window the sun was so bright and I dont even live in the desert :D Just an idea tho.. the most important thing about it is that you like the picture in the end
Going through my library trying various things and categorizing my Gen 4 stuff, how its organized completely stumps me so I move everything together in one folder with subfolders andin doing so decided to try V5 in some V4 outfits. This is B25 Steampunk Aviator autofitted to V5 Xiao Wen. Everything fit well even with various poses, ecept the boots are a bit funky, not bad tho...for the boots I used the SRMS boot fit V4. The background and lights are from Chaotic Realms
And another using the Chaotic Realms Backgrounds which are amazing, altho postwork is needed to add shadows . this is V4 wearing DMR Ella clothing and paradise hair (from rendo) using one AoA Ambient light
The fog/haze background looks good in the aviator one. :)
Working on lighting, camera angle, and DOF....question...how do you get the blur on the background but less blur on the foreground? I would like the grass and lilypads to be less blurry, leaving the background as it is...what would I adjust to accomplish that?
Wrning..large render!
Will try that , thank you :)
Just playing around with new stuff and put this together, what I found interesting is that the characters are reflecting in the window. How or why I do not know....happy accident ?
haven't posted anything in 2 months but finally got around to rendering some things I purchased in the last big sales. Opinions and suggestions always welcome :)
Kharma- very lovely! The lighting, the poses- very elegant. :)
For fun, I might rotate the camera a tad so she's not squarely in the middle, and perhaps get a lower viewpoint and shoot up- with the elongated pose, that would really emphasize the "flow line."
Wow I haven't posted in my own art studio for a loooong time! I've just been playing around with Iray render and new G3 stuff so thought I would post this..it's small but my laptop isn't very powerful so it takes a long time to render with Iray,...hopefully I can learn a few tricks to shorten the render time or buy a new desktop soon
This is the new Hannah for G3 along with Dragonfly hair, i hope the hair covering her is enough for the TOS
LOL, you have her convered! Quite nice too.
Thanks Novica :) So I gave her a room to sit in and some clothes which I converted all to iray. the room is visions of past I think and already had lights which I changed to photometric and also upped to 15000 , some of the spot lights seemed to work better than others in the lamps tho expecially since I was just randomly changing things to see if I could get them to work. If anyone can tell me what changes are necessary when converting lights to photometric I'd appreciate the info. So I let this go for 45 minutes and it only got to 91% but I had to save it then so this is how it turned out
I'm rendering right now and can't check, but have you experimented with doing the double sided and different shape (like rectangle) options for the lights instead of keeping them points?
Finally something new, still playing with lighting and depth of field in iray
The glow on the shoulder looks good, it definitely helps to showcase the figure. Great depth of field and very eerie!
I would definitely go in the other direction as fast as possible if I came across him at this time of night. Very nicely done!
Thanks Novica and Sonja, I haven't really had much to post on my thread cause it seems everytime I start to work on something I get distracted by something else I want to try, sometimes I swear I have ADD as I'm all over the place lol. Lighting is and always will be a thorn in my side I am sure :)
I've been trying to get GenX to work on my laptop and finally completed my first tranfer with the newest version
This is 3D Celebrity Lola for V4 on G3F. I also used Cayman's Legacy UV's to tranfer her materials to G3f and also Sloshwerks new UTC Hair shaders for the Tinkerbell hair, I tried to give the hair some streaks of her original color to match her eyebrows better. what do you think, did it work?
Definitely!
I haven't used GenX2 in so long, I've forgotten how to do it. Do we have to take the V4 to Genesis, then Gen2, then Gen3?
No imtermediate steps for this one I went straight from V4 to G3F, once I got everything set up properly in GenX that were throwing errors at me. I can still only use the Beta 4.9 tho as when I upgraded 4.8 to 4.9 the 4.9 keeps crashing on me and I have no idea why
Another GenX transfer, this time K4 Jade to G3f. I found some G3F no makeup mats and a sorta kid friendly outfit that I had installed as alot of my content is not yet
I've been learning how to use the new dforce, and still working on my lighting. this is Pepper for G8 wearing the MFD
Very nice, Karma! Lighting is a little harsh lighting around the face but I really like how the lighting frames it. It's good positioning and the shadows you got are really good. It's so nice to seeing you posting again. It's been awhile.
Thanks KM, I tried to reduce the light on the face , reduced it from 30000 to 10000, using the rim light rig. This was my first attempt at trying these lights, I put one in front and one behind but didn't work quite like I was expecting so i will spend a bit more time reading the documentation on those lights. The dforce works amazing on the MFD tho, that particular pose I couldn't get to fit around her knee that is posed forward but adding the dforce modifier made it drape with no issues...I am loving it, one of the best additions to studio.
I have lots of work to do to catch up to the amazing renders everyone has been posting!
