So are all the items in the Victoria 3 and 4 Clearance sale going to be archived / mothballed.

That's a huge chunk of items to clear out of the store.

Are Daz going to stop accepting items for Victoria 4 from artists for sale in the store.

Exactly. What does "Clearance" mean in the sense that they're digital? When a store puts something on "clearance", it's to get rid of it. With digital goods, isn't it just "on sale"? To me, "clearance" suggests that these are being yanked from the store.

    Say it isn't so!

I have quite a few of those on my wishlist. V4 is only 2 gens back. Doesn't seem "that" old to me. V4 seems to be the most popular Victoria yet. To me it seems that people have been rather slow to adopt V5 and V6 based on what's available.

Many of those things are new, so I don't take the "clearance" thing seriously.

Some are for genesis as well, I hope they aren't going to stop producing for Genesis as well.

None of the above. The term clearance is being used because we are pushing back catalog. Since we sell digital assets we don't really have an inventory to clear out, however we think there are a lot of great back catalog items that are worth featuring and putting back on sale. Thus the term "Clearance."

No vaulting, no dusting. Just a sale of some oldies but goodies.

does anyone know when the sale will end? I haven't found any info about how long the sale will last. I still haven't decided what items I want to buy.

Sadly the price in your wishlist is the current store price, it isn't frozen when you add the item.

Yawn. All of these items were on sale for 50% off just a week and a half ago. If they're still on sale when the PA coupons from the first week of the PC sale become available I'll give 'em a second look. Otherwise, it's way too soon for a lesser sale price to be appealing.

Richard Thanks I knew that. I should have asked if I put them on my wish list would I still be able to buy them later or will they be unavailable, out of stock or ??

Jared said above that there's going to be no vaulting so they will still be there (errors and zombie apocalypses excluded).

So this isn't a Renderosity-style "clearance"... Considering two of the items on sale are on my wishlist and money's a bit tight at the moment, that makes me happy.

Thanks Adzan for asking! I was scared too!

Jared: thanks for the clarification (as somebody who has barely survived a clearance and subsequent vaulting at Daz, I was not sure how to read it this time!)

I have always been curious about V3, have seen some character sets that look interesting and appealing, but every time I look at an item I got lost in all the products it would require just to get the marked down item to work. I remember the trouble I had with the endless morph sets I needed for V4 content and the thought makes me stay away from V3 completely.

To me, if DAZ wants to move some of the older, and still very nice, V3 products they should make some affordable bundle with all the supporting V3 morphs and possibly base items, like MFD, available. THEN I would start buying V3 stuff :D

most of the character sets for Victoria 3 only need the Head and body morphs. A few character sets do not require any morphs, but these are rare.

The head and body morphs are mentioned, there are the http://www.daz3d.com/international-beauties-maps-and-morphs too - and that's about all the morph packs I can think of.

While not mandatory, I highly recommend Rayne for Victoria 3 (http://www.daz3d.com/rayne) and/or Predaton's morphpacks (this and this) although they might have conflicting channels.

    anyone else having trouble paying?

i go to use my paypal, and first they want a credit card number (never happened in the years I been shopping here before and I use those paypal cards you can get in the stores) and it says I don't have sufficient funds....YET I have 4 or 5 times the amount in my account.

What's going on here, folks? o.o I spent 2 hours looking through the items, picking what to get, what not to get and this happens, now.

Talk about having the wind taken out of one's sails.
