Help Appreciated Please
Hello
I am not all that new to Daz Studio but has been quite a while since I used it and there has been so many changes that confuse me.... so thought I would stop in and ask...
A couple of questions:
What is the difference between Genesis and Genesis 2 Base Female?
Also I wanted to purchase Lorella the Elf Maiden bundle which on the bottom states that the 3D figure required is Genesis but if I go to the page where the Elf Maiden is sold separately without the bundle it states that the required figure is Aliko 5??? Do I need both figures for this character to work?
Thanks in advance for any help....

Genesis and Genesis 2 are essentially two different characters. Both are free with DAZ Studio. Genesis 2 comes as a female figure at the moment, but there should be a male version soon too.
Aiko 5 is a morph of Genesis (not Genesis 2), and any of the '5' figures are morphs of Genesis. The Genesis 2 figure morphs are '6', but there are very few of them at the moment.
If you are using a character that says it requires A5, then it will work on Genesis, but it may not look exactly the same as it would applied to the Aiko 5 morph.
Genesis is a base figure that by itself is gender neutral. It comes with a set of morphs, two of which are for Basic Female and Basic Male. In essence the basic Genesis figure gives you the functionality of what you had with Michael and Victoria, but with a single figure. I think pretty much any figure that has '5' in the title (such as Aiko 5) is 'just' an add-on morph for Genesis. Anything created that is for Aiko 5 should work on any Genesis character, but will (possibly) look better on the specified character as the basic setup will be with that figure's shape in mind. Other Genesis figures will be supported bu the Auto-fit function.
Genesis 2 Female is (I won't say 'next gen') a new character, based on the same technology as Genesis but with it's mesh, etc., optimised toward the female shape. As the name suggests there will (should be?) a Male version coming ... eventually.
Great and very helpful replies thank you sooo much....
Got a lot to learn still with all the new characters and all as it has been a couple of years ( maybe a little less) since I even used Daz. Studio I eventually got disappointed with the render quality.especially the lighting and left it alone....
But I have to admit I am totally impressed with the render quality and all the little updated details and layout in the new Daz Pro version and was even more surprised to see it was totally free now. I have purchased a couple of goodies and did some test renders that have come out pretty good.....Don't know exactly what all was updated in Daz but this time it is the best ever!
Thanks again!
