Custom skin showing seams on the head?

Okay I am working on a skin for my ogre character.

I am having an issue with the head having a VERY high resolution on the skin and showing details just fine, but the body is not showing near the detail. Is there a resolution difference between the two? I have scaled the torso map way up to hopefully get the resolution better, but it didn't work... drat it.

I am using GIMP to work on the images.

Ideas? Suggestions?

Amy

What UVs are they based on? Just resizing the UVs won't work as that may cause stretching. You may have to take an *obj of the figure into UV Mapper and export the UVs out at a higher res (this may require the pro version, I don't recall offhand). You can also check SnowSultan's seams to see if her seams are already higher res than what you have.

IMHO you just hit the ONE nail on the Head that needs addressed. The Texture Size of the FACE is the SAME as the texture Size of the Torso in 99% of all 3D programs. That allows GREAT detail on Face neck areas but Far less on Body. The Scale of the UV is different. That means you must scale the torso textures by hand to match the Head and can not use just one size image for full body work. That to me makes things far harder than they should be. A 4024x4042 FACE texture is not the same Size ratio of a torso texture at the same size. At the very least we need to know the ratio from one texture area to the next so we as users can match them easy.
