How to make multiple materials available on an imported object

I am sure this is simple but I cannot find any reference to it in the forums. I want to make an object in blender, say a table, and be able to select from multiple materials, like natural oak, or a dark walnut when I pull it in to a scene in DAZ. I see it done all the time but I can’t find any instructions on how to accomplish it. A little help would be appreciated.
I should note here that the creating and importing is working great. I just want to be able to have more than one choice for the texture.
Please excuse me if this comes out as a double post. I place one at 11:00AM and it still hasn't shown up so I am trying again.

First you will need the Different textures, I would place them in a Folder in Runtime>Textures. You then load your object use the Surface Tab to add one of the Textures to it. Then you do Save As> Material Preset. You do that for each texture you need. Then from then on you just select the item in the Scene Tab and then Apply one of your saved Materials with a standard double click.
Great! Thanks. I knew it had to be simple but I just couldn't find it anywhere. I'm off to texture an oak, walnut and cherry table.
Your Welcome, hope you enjoy yourself.
