Decimator Error, strange noise, horrible in clothing, why? Please Help
Hi, I'm new in this awesome product, I would like to decimate genesis model, but when I reduce the percentage slightly the model breaks. the problem is only with the cloth, if decimate a nude model, que problem don't occur.
I have DAZ Sudio 4.6 Pro (x64 version)

I noticed, after decimate the model, if I press mouse button, for example on one foot for transform pose, the cloth are OK, but when I release mouse button, the cloth are wrong again. :(
I attach the images, first when I press the mouse for a transform.
Sadly, I don't have Decimator to give you an answer. However, it might benefit others to know what items you are decimating. If you list the clothing and hair which is causing the problem, someone might have a more educated answer for you. My uneducated guess is that there may be an issue with mesh topology, but that wouldn't explain why it doesn't still follow the figure pose.
I tested with genesis 2 female and another wardrobe and the problem still the same
Is the clothes parented to the genesis figure? Did you adjust the reletive level of decimation by the weighting feature?
What was selected for the decimatio. - clothes only?
No and I think that this don't correct the problem.
All in hierarchy, but I test to decimate only the "Skinni Top Crow" model and the the problem still occurs.
Thanks
Ok. You said you just are only decimating skinny top. Two things to know. 1. SELECT oidenly the skinny top and decimated. 2. Clothes does not decimated well since its often single sided polystyrene. I get better results after triangulation; with a polyp reducer.
If decimated clothes group boundaries no longer conform with the base figure - resultant will be awful. Don't reduce clothes more than the figure. For game engines consider merging clothes with figure. Search forun "dreamcutter" for my indepth posts on the topic yesterday.
Ok, I've read these post and finally the result it's OK, GREAT.
Steps:
1. Export the model to .FBX format, select "Merge Clothing Into Figure Skeleton".
2. In new DAZ scene, import the generated .FBX file.
3. Decimate all geometry. WORKS!! It's everything ok!! LOVE IT GREAT!!
4. Use Texture Atlas to generate simply texture.
6. Export the model to .FBX format again.
I've imported the final .FBX result to Unity and this above is the final result.
I'm very happy with the results.
Really thanks Dream Cutter!! I Love You!!
THANKS AGAIN!!
Tada - Fantastic Results! Nice Work!
