Essentials eyelashes V5

Hi there,

I am a newby in the DAZ universe, but already have a lot of fun with the software. And of course bought some nice materials and props. But now I am lost. I purchased the Essentials eyelashes V5. I downloaded it with the download manager, but I can't find anything that looks like eyelashes. Not in the folders and not in my DAZ library.

So maybe this item is used differently. The description mentioned that you need a program that supports PSD files. Well, I have Photoshop CS6. So that won't be a problem. Can anybody tell me how this works?

    Hiya,

I'm not sure if I'm the right person for the job here, but I'll try and explain.

What you've bought is something commonly called a Merchant Resource. This is a product that is meant to help people that sell characters for V5. They can create a skin texture in Photoshop for V5 and use the Essentials Eyelashes pack to help them make the transparency maps and other textures for the eyelashes.

So in reality this may not be much use to you as an artist, at least for a long time. Not many artists bother making their own skin textures.

My personal suggestion is that you submit a support ticket and explain that you bought the item in error. You will get a refund without question, but be aware that customer services isn't at its best at the moment, its team leader is away having a baby and things are very slow.

    Hope that helped,
    Barry.

Thanks for your quick reaction! It's all clear to me now. Well, you learn every day :)

Maybe I keep the product for future use. You never know...

    Thanks again for your help.

Most welcome, FW. Love your work, but I abandoned my skin texturing projects early on because most merchant resources say I can't give away what I create with them, and I seriously doubt Daz would accept my first attempts! Otherwise I'd get as many resources as I could and a subscription to 3dsk and get cracking.

And I REALLY love the look of the mermaid sets you worked on, released today (available here: http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/dark-cyreena-for-genesis-and-genesis-2-female-s ).

    Much respect,
    Barry.
