Timeline Keyframes lost

edited December 1969 in New Users

I'm trying to create an animation using Timeline. My timeline is 90 frames long, and I want a keyframe about every 10 frames. I move the yellow triangle, pose my figures, and click "Create a Keyframe". then repeat to the end. When I'm done, all of the black triangles are no longer there except the last two. When I playback the animation is moves directly from the 0 frame to the latest frame, which is not what I need. I need the intermediate frames because the movement is not a direct line from beginning to end.

Why are my intermediate keyframes not being saved? I'm using DAZ Studio 4.6.0.18 Pro 64-bit.

I don't do animations, but when I tried this it worked for me.

If you select a different body part, the keyframes will not be seen in the timeline for keyframes that were created with a previous body part selected. If I select the main Genesis figure, create a few keyframes, then select say the Head, the other keyframes disappear, but they come back when I select the full figure again.

Even if the keyframes are not visible, they still affect the animation though. Try that to see if that is what happens for you?

Jimmy is correct, only Key frames for the selected body part show. If more than one part of the body is key framed you will need to select that part again to see the keys for that part.

Thanks for the tips. I didn't realized that objects had to be selected. So the next question is - why? :)

What if I have two objects selected for one keyframe, but only one for another, etc.? Why not just select everything all the time?

    Thanks again,
    Tom

The reason is for finer control. Example: Each arm will have it's own key frame if moved different ways. That will allow you to only edit one arm if it is all that needs fixed without changing other parts of the animation.
