HDR ProSets Yosemite Pack One

edited December 1969 in The Commons

this prop set includes next to humongous large jpg files hdr files in the texturesetting.
but Poser cannot read HDR files as a texture, so why include them at all
I got the failure message in Poser 7 so I tried the set in Poser 9, same failure message and the whole renders pitch black.
was this intended for a special version of Poser?
If so why is that not mention in the product info.

And as Photoshop cannot open a HDR either It's quite misterious what is under the hood.

I got this set the other day. If you read the notes carefully, you'll see that there is content in there for Daz Studio, Poser AND Carerra..probably what you are trying to access is the Carerra content ? Maybe someone more knowledgable can comment if I'm correct ?

What's under the hood for the Poser version (which appears to be the one for Studio 3) is a ground plane, a skydome, and a half-dozen very-high-resolution textures...

I certainly used the Poser content and not the DS or Carrerra content.
what bugging me is that the set renders neatly when there is not else in the scene but as soon as I add a character the hdr-file goes off
I managed to safe it in Photoshop CS as a tiff file and plug that in place of the hdr... same error message and at last I tried a jpg version of it.
that renders but only after reducing the size of the texturefiles to a max of 4000 pix.s
    it however takes forever

I think you need one of the Pro-Posers to make use of HDR images, Poser2010 surely works. Texture dimensions might still be a problem, though.

You will need at least CS2 to use HDR images in Photoshop.
