Cross hatch shadow shader

I was playing with the toon shader in DS, and trying to get the "clamp" (I guess you call it) to have a cross hatch appearance, but I dont see a way to plug something into that...
Would someone know a way to have a solid color, but have the "shadow" have a cross hatch appearance?
I've been toying around in the Shader mixer for a while now, with no good result.
Sort of like this: LINK

That sort of shader is something i would really like to have as well.
Unfortunately i don't know of any currently available for Daz studio and those i saw for other software are not quite nice anyways.
You could try Sickleyields Easy Shadows. They might work.
I have a camera coming out shortly that does this. Would you rather have it as a surface material?
I think a camera, a light or a material would be fine, but I was trying to figure out how to do it, or if it could be done versus a request for product to purchase. I'm more of the Poser old school type that likes to see what can be done in the material room aka shader mixer. Thanks for the leads though! :)
Well, I was also thinking of writing a tutorial about it... :)
Doesn't BishounenTaurus' Manga Style Shadersdo this? (I'm at work so I don't have DS available right now, but the third and the seventh examples show some cross hatching)
Now you're talking! ;-) Definitely would be interested, and would even help test it out, when you get that far.
Yes, which is why I'm working on cameras instead of surface shaders-- when someone wants surface shaders for this effect, I tend to direct them to BishounentTaurus' excellent products. :)
That said, I believe you can look at the Shader Mixer brick network in Manga Style, so if you're not afraid of digging around in Shader Mixer, you could probably get some tips there. :)
I was actually looking for more something like the YaToon2 plugin effect that is free for Carrara. Here is link to an example pic: LINK
Ah-- that's a bit different than the first sketch image you linked to.
You want to use the Mix brick for this. Are you familiar with it? PM me if you would like to look at an early draft of a tutorial. :)
