Hi to all,

I need an advice on using Luxrender. I read everywhere that it is possible to save Your render in LuxRender and to continue later. In the manuals it is said onlz that You should use the option File Save FLM.

But if I do it that waz Im unable to continue the render. Ony the FLM file is saved. And this doesnt allow for a render to continue. How to save the file so I get the .lxs file to be able to resume my render later on.

Thanks for the help

That is a good question. I normally let mine render overnight and it'll be done when I wake up.

The FLM is the actual resume file. Open the Luxrender GUI and select Resume FLM from the menu instead of just opening the LXS. It will ask you to select a LXS file and a resume FLM file, and then it will carry on from where it left off. If you just select Open it will start from scratch, overwriting any existing FLM file with the same name -- so be warned!

    Thamks for advices

@Power Member - thats exactly my problem - I dont know how to create/save the lxs file. If Im going like it is in the manual File-Save FLM, only a FLM file is created. Therefore if I try to resume there is no lxs file.

The lxs file is your scene file. You have it from the beginning and don't have to create it

By default, the LXS file is saved to your Daz Studio temp folder, which is pretty poor because everything in the folder is erased if you quit Daz. To remedy this, always save to a file using the 'Render to image file' option and specify a specific path. That is where the LXS file will be saved, along with any FLM file to resume a render in progress. By default it automatically creates FLM files, though you can specify a point to resume from in the Luxrender GUI.
