Lights switch to Specular Only all by themselves

Hi all!

I don't know if this is a known problem but it has happened to
me a couple of times. What happens is that when I render a
scene all the Lights switch to Specular Only in some of the frames.
This results in an odd blinking effect that is really difficult to
get rid of.
It has happened in past versions of Daz and it just happened
in the current one (4.6 I believe). It seems to be completely
random, even between renders of the exact same scene/animation.

I have no idea why this happens and I don't know how to fix it.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about and what to do?

(Forgive me if this is a FAQ but I couldn't find an answer in
the archives.)

Never heard of this before. How are you Rendering, OpenGL or 3Delight? How are you saving, as Frames or to an AVI file?

Thanks for your reply. Here is some more information. Please let me know if there is anything else you need to know.

Well, I'm rendering in 3Delight and I've had the problem both when I save my renders to frames and to AVI. It could also be worth mentioning that I use an iMac. The weird thing is that the changes are made in the scene itself so when I backtrack the scene on the timeline in DAZ after I've rendered it, a couple of the frames have actually changed all by themselves. So far the only change I have identified is that the Lights have switched (because that one is fairly obvious).

So to be clear: the scene is ok when I start the render but when the render is finished the scene is altered and it doesn't seem to matter what I save the renders as. I wish I could be more specific but this doesn't happen every time. Just once in a while.

That is a very odd issue. They only thing I can think of that might be happening is a file save glitch. The data getting a switch set wrong is possible, getting the same error and only for lights sometimes makes me wonder though. How large are your normal saves? I do mine in scene clips that average close to 1200-2400 frames each, some less some more.

I know it's odd, I have no idea whatsoever myself. The saves are only between like 100 and 500 frames so they are not that big. If I'm the only one experiencing this then there is probably something I have done but I can't figure out what. (I never, ever use Specular Only so that in itself is weird.) The problem is that I have no clue what to try.
