Is there a way to set hexagon to open as default "Symmetry X"?

So far I've bee lucky and haven't wasted hours of work making adjustments to a morph only to find out I'd forgotten to set Symmetry X to enabled every time I export from DAZ to HEX.

But It's aggravating to have to remember to turn the Symmetry X on every time I bonce back and forth and the occasional 15 minutes of forgetfulness adds up. It could have been more if I wasn't in the habit of never saving to a previously saved version and using a Julian date time file name system for quick reversion.

Is there a way to Set Hexagon to open as defaulted to "Symmetry X" or possibly manually adjust an .INI file?

Never heard of one. Having worked with Hexagon for quite awhile now ... would say that sounds like a good way to crash the program every time it opens.

    Maybe.
But sounds like it wouldn't be too hard to code a preference setting that upon selecting an object (either for the first time or every time a new object is selected) it would attempt to turn on Symmetry X,Y,Z if the object is symmetrical.

More objects then not, have an element of symmetry involved. It just makes more sense to have an option to default it to the more common usage.

I mean there are objects that wont take the Symmetry X button. When I had tried the program pauses for a second or two then turns the button back off.

Depends upon the model. Several of the 'free to a good home' types that are not symmetrical according to Hexagon, esp if there are a lot of tris involved, simply crash the program. Mind you if somebody can code it in as "an option" and ALSO a "can't do that so skip it" message thingie ... that would be kool.
