Hey folks,

I'm reasonably new to 3d art, I've got a basic grasp of things and i'm currently trying to experiment with draping clothing.

But here is the reason for this post and hopefully i've posted under the right category.

I both run and am part of some d&d games, i create the characters in daz studio for players to use as an image on their character sheets (it adds a bit more to our sessions.) My character recently skinned a wolf to make some armour and is using the head as a helmet. Of course, i set myself the challenege of creating this new piece of art, but i can't find anything here on the store that i can use as this wolf helmet. I've tried using Wolf 2.0 but adding the fur, means I can't hide the body etc.

Maybe i just didn't look hard enough? But any help or suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks in advance.

You can search various 3d outlets, there are a few, renderosity, sharecg etc., keep in mind also that you can get creative and parent any wolf type figure to your human figure (in place) and hide parts of the figure, so you could actually take a wolf, bring it up so that it is at the head of your human figure like a hat, and then you can go to the scene tab and hide the rest of the wolf.  For rendering stills it would be a simple task, if you use your imagination almost anything can be done.

There are some really really nice wolf models in the Marketplace, Allessandro has some terrific wolf models and so does Daz.  Get one of them and then you can try the above and no doubt you will get something suitable.  No doubt there are pelts that are like what you describe, just do a google search and something will turn up or work with a few models and get creative.

  • Thanks for the reply - the problem i had so far was the mesh for the fur of the wolf, counted the head as part of the body and i couldn't hide it. I'll check out what you suggested.
