Smoothing and Collision Detection replaces Autofit??

edited December 1969 in New Users

Hello I''m new here and I have a question.

I learned about Daz Studio and the DS plugins through Youtube as I understand....In order to get unmatched clothing to fit all character, such as genesis to genesis 2 it requires a plugin called AutoFit. I recently downloaded and installed DAZStudio 4.6.0.18 32bit with the assumption that AutoFit is included. I just don't know if this is for all versions of Daz Studio or if "AutoFit" was discontinued and replaced with "Smoothing and Collision Detection".

I did notice a feature called "Smoothing and Collision Detection"...so I am wondering if this is a replacement for AutoFit or not. As it is, I do have "Smoothing and Collision Detection" in DS which appears a bit Neanderthal to AutoFit...according to the Youtube video's that I saw. There is no plugin "AutoFit" listed in my account downloads nor anything installed of the sort. I am guessing now that Autofit was placed by "Smoothing and Collision Detection". That is my guess.

Because of my lack of knowing, I went and purchased the Autofit plugin and only received a manual. if this plugin "Autofit" was meant to be included could you please tell me who to contact so that I can have a copy of AutoFit sent to my account? As of now I did purchase the serial for AutoFit ...from this link: http://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-4-auto-fit-tool.but I did not receive any such plugin...only a manual. I would love to have a better understanding of this.

If "Smoothing and Collision Detection" has replaced Autofit, who do contact to get a refund or get credit added to my account?

Thankyou.

    from the product page

How to get the Auto-Fit Tool - The Auto-Fit Tool is included with the DAZ Studio 4 installer and is installed automatically, but is not activated until you enter a valid serial number for it.

How to Activate the Auto-Fit Tool - To activate the tool, go to the "Help" menu and select "About Installed Plugins". Next, find the entry for Auto-Fit and click on the "Register" button and then type or paste in your Auto-Fit serial code into the Serial Number field. Finally, click on the "Accept" button to finish registration. The Auto-Fit serial code will be listed in your "Available Serial Codes" section of your www.daz3d.com account.

Thankyou for your quck reply Madam. So I should understand then that “Smoothing and Collision Detection” is not the same as "Autofit". that is a good thing to know.

In my account, there was no listing for Autofit in my serial listing which should tell me that it was not included. But I'll give this a try. and get back to you soon to let you know what happened. Thankyou again..

If you did pay for AutoFit, then I would recommend asking for a refund, as AutoFit is included in DS4.6 (for free) as you initially had assumed. You do need to register DAZ Studio in order to activate AutoFit. To do that, find your serial number (the DAZ Studio Pro serial number, not a serial number specifically for AutoFit) on your My Account page, then enter it in DAZ Studio (Help>Register DAZ Studio).

If you've done this and AutoFit still doesn't seem to be working, let us know which clothing you are trying to fit to which figure, and we may be able to help.

Thankyou again....both of you. I registered Daz Studio, found the plugin for the AutoFit tool in the Daz 3D program's Plugin's folder. I then tried the Youtube tutorial and it worked fine. What I didn't know is that the AutoFit plugin does not require any registration because it is already integrated with the program itself. I have a few plugin that won't working but I think it's because I do not have the programs and my version of Photoshop is ancient.

Ok....If I may ask one more question please? Who may i contact for a refund. I see a few products that I would like to buy and that extra $ 6.95 would come in handy. right about now.

Have a great day., and thankyou very much.

File a support ticket, using Help / Contact Us / Submit a Help Request from the top line of the forum ^^ up there, and use Sales as the dept.

Go here and click the green button to submit a help request (also known as a support ticket). Complete the form with all the necessary details, and select "Sales Support" as the department.

Just so you know, when DAZ Studio 4 first came out, there was a free version that didn't include AutoFit, as well as the Pro version that comes with AutoFit and some other tools (there was an Advanced edition too, in between the free version and Pro version). AutoFit was available as a separate purchase for those who didn't want to pay for the Pro version. The Pro version is free now, so there's no need to buy AutoFit separately.
