Over in my studio, I'm listing the lights as I review the sets and what is that cube called by the words Lights? (I know it has the UberEnvironment, etc)
Well poke poke to all three of you! Tell me when you should use which? This was during my light reviews, so did they use the group or the null, and is there an advantage to either?
A Null could be thought of as a primitive with no geometry. Its primary purpose is to be an anchor for other objects parented to it so they can be manipulated as a group (note the small 'g'). A Group (note capital 'G') is like a virtual folder in to which to collect things with something in common, exactly how you use it is up to you. I use Groups mainly to combine a figure and everything it is wearing in to a character Group. The nice thing about the Group function is that switching visibility of the Group also switches everything in the Group, quite useful when assembling complex scenes.

That is a Default group. As in loads as a Group.
Thanks :) I had listed the lights as the two distant, with one being the UE2, but wasn't sure if I was missing something. Appreciate it!
More precise it is a Null Object that is used to Group things together.
LOL :P Well I just had to. :P
The Null and Group icons are very similar. The Null has the extra Y shaped edges whereas the Group does not.
Edit: The icons are shown in the Create drop down menu for future reference.
LOL jestmart...now that is precise. :)
I can not decide which one to poke with sharp pointy thing first...
oh me me I will go first. :P

Totally lost.
Make me wise.
You have the power.
