I thought the whole point of calling Victoria 5 "Victoria" (despite the fact that she's really Genesis) was that she was compatible with V4 stuff. So how come I can't get V4 morphs and textures to work with her?
The main reason to call her V5 was to keep the Victoria name going forward afaik, but Genesis V5 is a different figure to V4 and so her morphs won't wrok, any more than V3 morphs work in V4, wihout assistance from a plug in.
Edited to add, and yet again Jimmy beat me to the draw.
As you said, V5 is based on Genesis, and V4 morphs will not work on V5 (without using GenX that is)
what's GenX
The V4 textures should work on V5, just change the UV Set in the Surfaces pane.
not sure how to do that. I load a Genesis figure, but when I try to load (for example) V4 Hi-res !All_natural.DSB it doesn't change the texture of the skin?

I just tried this with !All_Natural_NG.DSB , with Genesis selected, and it worked first time. Are you using the textureless Genesis, or does it already have a texture? You may not notice the texture change if it is already textured.

thanks. I agree it does seem to work first time now. How does it know to use the V4 UV then? How come sometimes it loads with those funny looking seams (showing the wrong mesh) and sometimes it loads straight off?
Since the skin is supplied for V4, and was long before Genesis was thought of, I don't think the DSB file would change the UV set, the default for Genesis when it loads, is to use the V4 UV Set, so if you have changed it to use, say, a M4 skin, then the UV Set would need to be changed back to V4 when you load a V4 skin.
You can also lock the UV set once you set it in the Surfaces pane.

Thanks both

GenX is here : http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x. You need the V4 shape for Genesis as well to transfer the morphs.
