Adding blood, sweat, maybe tears, cuts, etc.

I'm working on a fight scene - something like a couple boxers or MMA guys going at it in a ring. The characters are M4-based.
The scene itself is no problem, but I'm trying to figure out how to add things like sweat, blood, cuts, etc.
There are some prop "sweat explosion" things like FM Fight Club, though those are for Genesis. But essentially what I want to do is spray-paint on some sweat and cuts and such - what fighters look like by the fourth or fifth round.
How do people usually do this? I see Ron's Brushes has some water/splash/blood effects. I haven't done much with Ron's brushes.
Is this the sort of thing normallly done in postwork, or is there some other route I'm missing?
Thanks!

Most of this can be done as Render in. That can be done two ways, there are the Packages sold here at DAZ 3D that will do it for you like these

http://www.daz3d.com/lie-wound-pack

All of which work on M4 or you could Use the LIE that is built into DAZ Studio and add your own Textures as png layers to the figures. The LIE is opened in the Surfaces Tab and for this you use the Diffuse Channel Drop Down (little square picture) and open the texture you wish to add a layer to. Here is how to open M4's Face texture in LIE.
How feasible would it be to do this with a transparent, skin tight body suit, just out of curiosity? Something that could easily be moved from character to character without having to mess with pre-existing textures.
That would work, but why bother? Any wound or Tattoo can just be added to the Figure in LIE and placed on any part you like except across texture seams very fast and easy. All you need is a PNG file to load into LIE.
Well I should have been more clear. There would be no purpose for scars and tats, but maybe for sweaty skin, wet skin and a large amount of tears that's what I was thinking of.
I've been working in Poser (shoulda said that).
But perhaps I could do this scene in DS with these packs. I haven't seen something similar for Poser.
