Help needed learning to rig a DAE or OBJ-file Earring prop to fit for G8F
Hi!
I made an earring prop in Blender, and I would like to learn how to make it into a smart content prop for DAZ.
Where you just click on the content image, and the earring auto-fits to the charactor (G8F).
-I welcome any help, and pointers on how to rig this object to match a figure (=
And if anyone knows any good tutorials please do link them here.
Rigging things for DAZ-characters is new to me, and this feels like a good first step before geting in to making more elaborate content.
The model is made by me in Blender, and it is an imitation of Hermiones Yule Ball Earrings (from HP).
My intent is to share and upload the finished earring model for free if I can manage this auto-fit-thing ^^
I would be glad if anyone could help (=
/Cheers!

In part 2 she explains some rigging using the Transfer Utility.

Thank you Illidanstorm!
Ill have a look at these tutorials (=
Noooo don't rig it with bones. With an earring the best way is generally going to be using a rigid follow node instead.

Hi SickleYield! and thank you (=
The Geometry Editor tool is all new to me, and I made allot of progress with the 'Setting up items with rigid follow nodes tutorial'.
It whas a mild and straight-foward guide.
I managed to set up the earrings in the Content Library, and it fits the G8F when doubble-clicked! ^^
And also, it does not distort as far as I could see.
(I haven't made any textures for the earrings yet, in the promo I used DAZ-shaders).
The part I marked red in the third image, was a part I skipped because things went 'wild' when I tried it.
-The 'Mesh' changed size, and filled the screen =/ ^^
Is that part necessary for my content in this case?
No. I don't know why someone would even insist on that. You do not need your earrings to have a figure rig to be used as rigid follow nodes.
Okay, Glad I can skip that rig-part for now ^^
-Thank you both again for the help! (=
