Shoulder shrug

edited December 1969 in New Users

Hi all,

Trying to do some basic posing as I learn Daz. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get a Victoria 4 model to shrug her shoulders up while keeping her arms close to her sides. Every time I lift the shoulders up, the arms go out. Any help would be appreciated!

Move the Collar, not the shoulder.

OK, I got it. If I select the collar in the scene view, I can rotate it to shrug the shoulder. I can then select the shoulder and rotate it in the opposite direction to bring the arm closer to the body, but only to a certain point. I have to turn limits off in order for the arm to go down to the side of the body. Those limits are why I couldn't get the arm closer to the body.

Is there any way to turn limits off for all of the bone movements, or does it have to be done individually?

There is a Global Respect Limits setting... now let me hunt it...Here it is in Pref's. Set it to what you prefer...
And ignore the Text, the setting is active at all times, not just at loading a pose...

That's for controlling what happens when a pose or preset needs limits to be off - to turn them off manually use the Parameters pane option menu (click the button in the top corner or right-click the tab) and select Limits>Limits Off (Rotation). And use Limits>Limits On to restore them.

Well I'll be. It does only work for that one pose when loaded. Hmm... learn something new all the time.
