Using D-Former with Genesis Clothing...

I was experimenting with D-Forms and a question has arisen for me. I want to deform an article of clothing on a genesis figure.

I'm working in Daz Studio 4.6.0.18
Windows 7 64 Bit

I basically have a top that I want to pull out a bit more to correct a fitting issue. It's the NautiBikini Top. However, when I select the top, click to create the new D-Former, the dots don't appear on the model like it would with say the jason jeans, and the field appears to no effect on it whatsoever. I do have smoothing turned on, but it doesn't make a difference if I turn it off. Moving the base produces no discernable effect on the mesh. It's like the d-former simply does not work on this piece of clothing. I have also encountered this also with a necklace, but it seems to work fine with other Genesis clothing so I'm a bit confused. Is there some setting that I'm missing in order for it to be able to affect the genesis clothing article?

In DS4.6 the ROOT of the item needs to be selected to apply a Deformer. I'm not a fan of this new method as We now have LESS control of what the Deformers effect.
