First off forgive my newbishness . . . I'm very new to rendering. Anyone willing to help, I will answer any questions and provide whatever information is needed.

I purchased this from Xurge3D:

I applied the bump map but I have no idea what settings to use to get the sort of depth displayed in that image. Can anyone give me some advice as to some good start settings for bump maps? There's also a diffuse map that hasn't been applied to anything . . . not really sure what sort of settings I would need for that.

Example of my render:

Set the strength to 100% if it isn't, then if need be increment the min and max values. However, looking at your image I think you need to work on the settings for specularity too, and on your lighting.

Please post on the thread-the Pbucket image is tiny and dark-can't see anything! Thanks!

I said earlier that it had a "diffuse" map . . . of course it does lol. I meant displacement map. I played around with that and the specularity as recommended and am now getting some very pleasing results.

    Thank you!

With products from Xurge you have to remember that the majority of them are set up for Poser and not DS, although he has recently added DS support for a couple of his newer Items

Adam had done DS settings for several of his items, and released them as freebies. You can check his lis of freebies here, and see which ones he has done this with: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/306/
