Skydomes & Shadows

Hello everybody,
Probably a silly question... Almost all of the times when I use a skydome, and then I use a distant light with raytrace shadows, automatically everything goes black when rendering (in 3delight). Is there a way to avoid this and make daz ignore the skydome in order to do the lightning? For example, for skydome with infinito, the shadows work ok, but others like skydome from mountain rite, everything inside becomes black....
Thanks!

Does it still happen if you add an UberEnvironment light to the scene?

I don't know, I never use UberEnvironment, I didn't like it because even I use the best quality, I didn't like the result... 8-/
    Thanks a lot for answering.

    Thanks a lot for answering.

It does require mixing with regular lights for best results (especially with specularity) but sometimes it can help narrow down the problem.

Okay, let's try this, then. Does it have the same problem if you use a spotlight, trying with it placed both inside and outside the dome?

Try selecting the skydome and on the surfaces pane set the opacity strength to zero. That should let distant light through, hopefully without making the skydome disappear.

But If I do that, the sky will disappear..... isn't it?

Select the SkyDome, in Parameters open Display at top turn CAST SHADOWS to OFF. With Shadows on it is acting like a WALL blocking all the lights.
